Whatcha Eating Today VSGers? Sunday February 4, 2018

Happy Sunday! Today is laundry, errands, chili making and football watching for me. Since I'm from Massachusetts we are rooting for the Patriots, but I was born in Pennsylvania so I wouldn't be terribly upset if the Eagles win (don't tell anyone, LOL).

QOTD: Do you have a specific dish (or dishes) that you make to bring to a party (like a SuperBowl party) that is safe for you to eat? I usually cook shrimp to bring (I did that Friday for the dance we went to). Today we have a friend coming so I am making a vegetarian chili that I love (plus cornbread for DH). Our friend is bring a dessert which hopefully won't be something that calls to me...

1 year, 10 months post-op

B: eggs, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon

L: Tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese OR leftover pulled pork for yesterday's lunch.

D: Vegetarian chili

S: Nut thins and hummus

Good morning! I'm working on figuring out my plan for the day still. I got both of my papers submitted yesterday (36 hours early!) so I spent time in the evening just reading. For fun. OMG. Today I'm going out to see Winchester, Skype with my mom, cook dinner, and do a load of laundry. I've also got to do one more forum reply for HMGT. Aside from that, I don't really have any plans since there's no way I'm grocery shopping before the super bowl! Rational brain says I should spend some time on next week's reading assignments, but rational brain also says I should enjoy the break and read some more for fun. (With my NEW progressive lenses!) So, we'll see.

QOTD: Not really. I tend to always do different things since I like to experiment. These days most of my "going to parties" is related to Cookbook Club, which requires me to experiment!

1: protein shake
2: probably popcorn at the movie
3: leftover rabbit stew
4: Chicken Shawarma Rice Bowls with Quick-Pickled Tomatoes - I'll be doing mine without the rice. This is the last recipe from Modern Israeli Cuisine (my cookbook for the week) and I get to make Harissa to go along with it!

liquid and vites: on track
exercise: it'll depend on how I feel. I'm still experiencing pain and not sure what's going on. It's either resolving to a kidney stone, or constipation.

I hope the movie is good! I love Helen Mirren!

We are thinking about going to a matinee Tuesday after work for our ghost fix!

I'm looking forward to it! The house looks crazy and I'm always up for a good scary movie. Especially with Mirren and Jason Clarke!

I've been to the real Winchester house in San Jose. It's a fun tour!

Gwen, with all the movies you see, I hope you have a MoviePass card... I have no idea how they make any money, but it's the best thing ever for moviegoers!

It sounds like a really fun tour/experience.

We don't have a MoviePass card. I think Lance looked into it but decided it wouldn't work well for us - but I forget the reasoning.

For $90 a year, I can see a movie every day. So $7.50 a month. It's pretty crazy. If you even see one movie a month you've more than paid for it (our tickets are $12.50 here). You may want to check it out again!

I feel like he found it would be problematic with reserved seating? But I don't remember.

Ah, yes. Some theaters don't let you use it for reserved seating. Some do.

Great job on the papers! I went to undergraduate and graduate school at night and I was always procrastinating on getting papers done.
