So I'm .8 pounds over my comfort range. Two days of birthday celebration with salty corned beef and Irish bread does it! Luckily I know how to eat "clean" to drop back down. Prior to WLS, I might try to fast, but that would cause me to eat more by the end of the day so I know better now.

QOTD: Did you plan to work in the job you are in now (did you or are you consciously preparing for it)? I worked in the insurance field and I used to like to tell people that NO ONE plans to work in insurance. It was a great job though with a lot of challenging and diverse roles. DD works in insurance as well, but didn't plan on it either. There is only one guy I know who did plan on it and majored in insurance at a college in the mid-west (I never knew that such a major existed). I was never sure what I wanted to do except when I was really young and wanted to be a doctor. But over time, I lost that focus. I kind of fell into my career when I needed a job and there was a clerical opening. I went to college and graduate school while working for the same insurance company and climbed the management ladder over the years.

1 year, 11.5 months post-op

B: eggs, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon

L: Tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese

good morning. it's freezing here in the northeast - Liz, stay in Florida!!

QOTD: No, who plans to work as a patent paralegal, haha. Actually, it's a great paying, very interesting job, depending on what kind of IP the attorney works on. I planned on being an HR person, but went to Mass General Hospital as a temp and they offered me 5K more than i was making to stay on as a legal secretary. Then the hospital decided everyone was underpaid and gave a 10% raise across the board. I couldn't leave and got trapped in the field, haha - I eventually went to a law firm downtown where the pay was great and they let me work 12 hours a week at night while my kids were little. Who can beat that? It kept me in the field and now, almost 30 years later I'm still at it - but in the corporate world, at a company the focuses on women's health - 3D mammograms, thin prep, and lots of other great products.

B: i think low fat triscuits with jarlsburg...got to go to Dunks for an iced coffee - resisting the girl scout flavors

The rest of the day is not planned yet - not good, but I plan on staying home and being productive, so whatever I have in the house.... most likely some turkey breast for lunch and maybe some soup for dinner.

E: sooooo cold.. high today in the 20s...walk?

L/V: already on my 2nd giant mug of tea

Good morning everyone! Today is my Grandma's birthday, so we're going to Red Lobster for lunch with a family friend. I'm getting her a fitbit like mine for her birthday.

QOTD: I didn't plan on my job earlier on. I never would have imagined working as a CNA and going to nursing school and never would I imagine that I would ever be physically fit enough to handle the demands of working in that field.

Prebreakfast - Coffee, no PP this morning I'll add it in later.

Breakfast - Egg with Babybel mini Mozzarella

Morning Snack - Store was out of my Fage but I did get Chobani plain on sale, so I am working with that. Will mix a half serving of PB2 into it.

Lunch - Red Lobster! Will have the broiled sea scallops with a side of broccoli

Dinner - Tuna Salad

Good morning!

I'm not too excited about the end of Spring Break, but DW and I had a wonderful time in Hot Springs, AR. I cannot believe we live 3 hours away and have never been! It far exceeded my expectations. We took a private bath at Quapaw, stayed at The Arlington, enjoyed the hot tub, trekked through the National Parks, saw Central High, the Big Dam Bridge, etc. If anyone goes for a Arkansas vacation, I highly recommend Little Rock and Hot Springs. I wish we could have stayed a few more days!

QOTD: Well, I always wanted to be a famous writer when I was little. Poems, short fiction, etc. In high school, I decided I wanted to be an editor since that was more realistic, but I had to stay in state due to some family issues. I got my B.A. in English and ended up teaching. The pay is low, but it's enough to survive on and I love it. I went back and got my Master's a year later so now I'm pretty sure I'm here to stay. :-)

B: Healthy Choice Merlot Beef Steamer

L: salami, cheese, crackers

D: hopefully lemon pepper chicken salad (perhaps chicken and broccoli or fish)

Snacks: Greek yogurt, maybe peanut butter

Today is the last full day of my "me vacation" although I'm not going back home until Tuesday. I'm pretty sure I've eaten more carbs in the last week than I have in the previous four years combined. This isn't a complaint, just a statement of fact. Next week's carb "detox" will suck, though :P

QOTD: I had planned to be a code breaker for the CIA and worked toward that goal until I was 20 when I realized that college was not the right place for me at that time. Now I'm working toward a career in the field of Gerontology. I'll get there in... 2020.

1: protein shake
2: no idea - with friends
3: no idea - either with a friend or the leftover tofu sandwich I've got in the fridge!

liquid and vites: on track
exercise: a lovely walk

A weird weekend; I dropped a bit below my goal way sooner than I thought, and am scrambling to figure out maintenance!

QOTD: Did you plan to work in the job you are in now (did you or are you consciously preparing for it I'm retired, so no I didn't plan to retire early, but disability issues moved things up. I do a lot of volunteer work and take classes. I feel so great after VGS that I would sort of like to go back to work, but have gotten used to the freedom to sort of flow with the day. A thought to be contemplated.

Although my family is Irish, we had a birthday and she wanted Mexican; so I had shredded chicken Tostado with avocado; passed on the beans and rice because I was full, but it was muey deliciouso!

Sunday I made chicken etouffee for the week; I use chicken thighs because they are moist, but trim ALL visible fat off first; then my sausage, which I cook well done and use up 1/2 a roll of paper towels to pat all the oils off. Roux is not an issue since it's small. It's high protein, very satisfying and sits well on my touchy stomach. I don't eat a rice or bread with it.

B: Hmm - always Premier protein shake in my coffee, and then it depends on what himself wants to cook; usually 1 egg scrambled without oil, 1/2 slice Mountain Grain spring bread.

L: Etoufee

S: Jolly Time 100 microwave popcorn

D: No clue; depends on how the afternoon goes

Random: Usually an Oikos Triple Zero Yogurt - loving the coconut and salty caramel ones

I am not quite at the point where I know everything I'm eating daily until its time to eat. I do track EVERYTHING on my phone app (I use MyPlate by LiveStrong)

HW: 240 lbs CW: 205 lbs: SW: 199 lbs GW: 130 lbs
1 MO = 167.0 2 MO = 156.4 3 MO = 148.4 4 MO = 140.6
5 MO = 136.0 6 MO = 130.0 (GOAL) 20 MO = 133

QOTD: Last year, I began working with my husband in the business he started 20 years ago with two partners. One partner was a jerk and was bought out and the other died of cancer 5 years ago. My husband asked me to join the company so he could have a partner to share ideas with and help grow the business. It's working for us...so far.

B: 1 egg omelet with cheddar and bacon

L: Turkey breast, cheddar cheese and pickles

D: We dined with friends on St. Patrick's day, so I delayed our Irish meal until today. Corned beef with sauteed cabbage and onions, and boiled potatoes (for the family).

E: Spent most of the day weeding and cutting planting beds in preparation for mulch.
