Happy Sunday!

I managed to get stuck last night with my school work and ended up calling it a night without finishing everything I wanted to finish yesterday, but I got to the point where staying up and trying to do the work when I was exhausted would have ended up taking even more time than going to sleep and finishing today with a fresh mind. So.. after I get this posted it's time to get to work. We've got company coming over for a low-key dinner from 5-8pm, so I should have plenty of time the rest of the day (before and after) to work.

QOTD: What do your every day dishes look like? Post a picture or a link so we can see them! (I'll put mine in a comment.)

1: protein shake
2: crunch lamb and chickpeas (someone asked the other day about never seeing VSGers eat lamb and I've eaten a LOT of lamb in the last week!)
3: grilled burgers, homemade french fries, buns for the people who want them, my friends are bring dessert

liquid and vites: on track
exercises: home PT for feet

How about you?

QOTD: I joke that I bought my dishes when I was drugged after surgery over the summer, but the truth is that I've been lusting for them for years and I think my inhibitions were finally low enough that I was able to talk myself into buying them. :D My high school had Blue Willow china for fancy events - like asking people to donate money, so I worked with it a lot because I worked in food service during the school year and over the summers when I was in high school. I formed quite the love/hate relationship with the stuff.

And then came Calamityware. One of the reasons I'm excited about having company over today is that I haven't had company since I got my new dishes! We use them for everything, but it'll be fun to show them to people.

Beautiful! I had the remnants of some Blue Willow sets for a while from my Grandmothers house after she died.

Oh Gwen, I had a miniature set of Blue Willow (Made in Occupied Japan) that my mothers youngest brother gifted me with....I used it from the time I was 7, until I put it up; when I was in my 30's, I re-gifted to a friends oldest daughter, and now her daughter has it ... none broken in a set for 8 little children.

Invite me for tea... :)

DD flew home this morning after a one week stay so I'm a little sad. I'm also a little tired as I was awake at 4 so I could drive her to the airport. We fly home in 10 days.

QOTD: My everyday dishes both in Massachusetts and Florida are inexpensive ones bought at discount stores as we tend to break things. I always use the salad plate size of both. The shell ones are in Massachusetts, and the fiesta Rachel Ray ones are here in Florida:

2 Years post-op

Always lots of coffee...

B: eggs, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon

L: grilled salmon and veggies

D: Deli turkey

S: Yogurt and/or mozzarella/prosciutto sticks

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Didn't get to post yesterday, but everything is going very well. Demons are vocal, but have been subdued. Resume is almost to 100%, it should be ready to send out for proofing tomorrow. (Which is a HUGE accomplishment) Today is a game of RISK with my nephew and some light chores.

QOTD: I love light, pretty dishes, but my husband wanted HEAVY ones. I gave in and this is what we use: I found them on clearance for $10 for a full 8 piece place setting including dinner, sandwich, soup bowl and coffee cup so I bought every box they had. When one chips or breaks, I simply pull out a replacement. I'm thinking of going back to Corelle as they are much lighter and come in much prettier designs, but I hate to waste money so I will hold off until I've broken more of these... hmmm... might be a good way to get out some frustrations!

Meal 1: Coffee, PP protein shake

Meal 2: Sous vide Rib Eye steak

Meal 3: Thai soup (homemade)

Meal 4: LO pork roast with gravy and butternut squash cakes & a green veg (edemame?)

Snack: protein drink if needed.

Water and Vits: On track

Yes, with a smidge of gochujang. I make it with garlic, ginger and whatever stray vegs that I find in the fridge. I also added some LO pork roast. I add either vegan protein broth or coconut milk. Yesterday was the protein broth as I had a container open. I like to add lemon grass as well, but didn't have any yesterday. I will also sometimes add an egg.
