Prices vary all over the place. Rural hospitals will be cheaper than major cities. You will also get surgeons who have done far fewer procedures, and who offer much spottier guidance and aftercare.

I'm really not sure this is the kind of thing you want to put out for lowest bid.

If money was a major concern, I would have gone to Mexico. It's a lot less expensive than the cheapest surgery you'll find in the US, and some surgeons there do WLS full time. They are very skilled and experienced.

Well, it's not really "cheaper" anywhere in the US, that I have discovered.

I got this from the internet (quick search, not fleshed out)

The average cost of gastric bypass surgery is $23,000, the average cost of lap band is $14,500, and the average cost of sleeve gastrectomy surgery is $14,900.

This seems about right. My insurance covered the surgery, and my 20% cost was $1,989.00

My friends that have had it done in Mexico have paid between $3-5,000 dollars (including airfare.)

It's not really something you should bargain shop for. Like Grim said, if you want skilled and less expensive Mexico is your safest bet.
