I think I have a leak 3wk post op Question HELP!!!!

Hi everyone, I noticed I'm only going to bathroom 2 -3 times a day just a little stream . I'm drinking at lease 64 oz a day. I'm cold a lot now not fealing good. I don't want to sound the alarm just yet. But I think something is wrong I will call the Dr. office Monday. I have kidney disease I thought it was from that I let this go on for too long. My family doctor took me off of blood pressure medication because it was normal. Im reading symtoms of a leakage is low Blood pressure and low urine out put.Have anybody had this problem?

Are you having any gastric pain or chest pain?Typically your heart rate would be increased and you would have a fever. Have you checked your temp?

As a nurse low urine output and low blood pressure are from what we call sepsis, which a gastric leak could certainly cause, but this may present as later signs. I would think you would have more symptoms and be gravely ill by the time these symptoms would arise.

The possibility of a leak certainly needs to be ruled out, but to me you describe symptoms of a possible UTI. Please call physician immediately!

I'm having pains in my stomach at times my chest hurts and it seams like I can't take a deep breath. I'm thinking it's post op healing.

See your doctor. A leak would be catastrophic, and I doubt you would have had time to post here. But regssrdkkess of what it is, you need to get checked out.

And, many people are cold all the time after surgery. Freezing cold, even in summer. It's a common side effect of WLS. Being overly hot with a fever would be a real concern.

CALL YOUR SURGEON NOT YOUR PCP! If they do not call you in ASAP, go to the hospital ER where you had your surgery. This is nothing to mess around with!

Call your surgeon or go to ER. Don't wait until Monday.
