Topic: RE: Does yoga count as excercise?

Yoga is really good for you. Depending upon the level and the type you are doing, you are burning calories and building muscle. With Yoga you tone and strengthen very specific muscles and muscle groups. Ever seen a fat Yogi? It also helps to relax your mind and helps deal with stress. I do Yoga everyday. I also do about 40 to 45 minutes of aerobic exercise as well.

Anyone that drinks soda after having surgery, hasn't learned a thing.

Last statement is pretty judgmental, yes?  Got the okay from the doc/NUT drink diet soda, have lost a crapload of weight, and still capable of abstract thought.  Think it's gonna be okay!

I take metagenics because I think they have the best quality products. It's as close to pharmaceutical grade as I can get. I take phytomulti with iron, 10,000 IU of Vitamin D3, and Omega3 fish oil. Metagenics also makes Bariatric Advantage, but I like metagenics better because they do not typically have artificial sweeteners in their products.

So I'm at Younkers the other day trying to find a pair of black dress pants.  I tried on everything they had and nothing fit right-baggy butt or too long.  I told the sales lady I've been losing weight and asked if she new how big the sizes went up to in the Misses department.  She said some go up to a Misses 16 and would probably fit me better than a women's size, and then she held out her hand and said, "give me that 1X top, honey; you don't belong in this department anymore."  Then we both laughed.  Guess what?  She was right!  It's the first time I'd paid attention to the misses department.  Wow; they have a lot more clothes to choose from there!  Not like the little plus size corner!  Before now, the misses department is the part of the store you have to walk through to get to the parking lot.  This is gonna be good!  I'm taking Friday off to go shopping!  I hope my credit card doesn't spontaneously combust!

Topic: RE: What?$?$ Crazy Insurance Bill!!!

Most insurance companies have a multiple surgery discount. Just like they don't pay double for twins. Some hospitals refuse to agree to the lesser amounts though when they are negotiating their contracts and if the insurance does not agree to what the hospitals want, then the hospital goes out of network and that is bad for everyone. Unfortunately, it is also one of the big reasons insurance costs so much.

Topic: RE: Slow weight loss

Please Please don't measure your journey by anyone else's yard stick. You will get there when you are supposed to. Your body is going through so many changes and will let go of the weight as it can. Just follow what your Dr and Nut tell you and you will be successful. I too worried about my slow weight loss and then one day I just said stop it and enjoy the journey I stopped weighing myself. I only weigh once or twice a month. I am a slow loser I had lost 57 lbs pre surgery that took from Jan 2010 to Jun 2012. Had my surgery in Jun 12 and now I have lost just shy of 170 lbs total. You will get to where you want to be just put one foot in front of the other and do it one day at time. Take the time to learn about your body and the foods/nutrients you are eating.
