Topic: RE: Can we take ibuprofen?

I recall we shouldn't take some type of meds but I don't take any so can't recall.  I have terrible back pain due to a nerve and need pain reliever.  Want to make sure I can take ibuprofen before taking it.  Thanks for the info.

Topic: RE: Stupid question--> can someone explain gas pain to me
Hi Allie,  I haven't had any gas pains since surgery.  I might burp a bit now and then but it's not even a daily issue.  Hope you have the same success and I with no gas pain!

Topic: RE: baby food during phase one
Baby food was of no interest to me.  Instead I will purée food my family is eating.  When I was at the dying for food stage last week, I had a bit of cottage cheese and that satisfied my need for food.

Hey Rick, I had no pain at all.  I used liquid pain meds for the first night home but not because of the pain but so I could sleep all night.  I think each person is different... I'm almost three weeks out and I'm walking 2 miles.  Good luck with your surgery.

Topic: RE: It took 9 months
Congratulations.  I'm sure you feel fabulous.

Topic: RE: What's your carb intake?
I had my 2 wk post op appointment today and he was very happy with my recovery, weight loss and that I'm walking 30min/2miles.  However, he said I have to raise my carbs which have been less than 30.  He want's them to come up to 60 and believes my body is in ketosis state.  I have only been able to get 24oz of water so I have to bring it up to at least 48.  Just this week I'm able to drink water in larger gulps then the after surgery sips.  So my question is is 60 a good number for carbs?

Topic: RE: YAY ME!!
Congratulations, Crystal!!  I also went to my 2 week post appointment today.  I have lost a total of 15lbs since surgery.  No too bad.  I have another 2 weeks of liquids... I would love soft foods, mushies or anything other than broth and protein drink.  Good luck with your next two weeks!!

Topic: RE: What did you do for exercise 1/1/12?
Walked across the golden gate bridge and back with my family.  Think it's a bit over 2 miles.

Topic: RE: Self Pay in the states
I had surgery a little over a week ago and self paid.  Dr Perryman at Sonoma valley hospital is my surgeon and I've had a very easy recovery.  I know it will be the best $11k I've ever spent.  Happy to speak with you if have questions.

Topic: RE: how often do u eat

Topic: RE: Back Home and Feeling Good
I had my surgery on Tuesday and was released Weds afternoon.  Went easy yesterday and feel good today.  I've been off pain meds since yesterday morning because I could not tolerate the taste.  I'd like to start tracking my food (liquids) and water intake and am looking for a good tracking website.  I know there's one that many OH users use but can't recall the name.  Thanks.

Topic: RE: Scary Stuff Going On Here.......
I'm having surgery tomorrow and my surgeon doesn't have a very detailed plan; however, he does have his patients drink liquids for the first 4 weeks. I've come across Dr. Cirangle's plan and will be following it.  I agree, following his plan will give me a great start.
