Topic: RE: 4 weeks

Welcome to the world of frustration 4 weeks was soft food, chicken made me sick so did tuna and still have trouble with mashed potatoes at 15 months out! Stalls are awful and so darn had to deal with, stay off the scale and life becomes easier to handle.  It can last a few weeks and then you will drop like 5 pounds overnite! I was still supplementing with protein drinks.  Even today I have a wonderful cup of coffee in the morning with Pure protein (frosty chocolate) and it tastes just like Cafe Moca.  One problem with a kurig the coffee doesnt brew hot enough to mix the powder well. My Mr Coffee works wonders and I mix it a little at a time. I really have become addicted to my protein drink in the morning!  I lived and still do on soups, chilis etc. I make a wonderful chicken veggie or beef veggie soup and that has become a staple for me.

Topic: RE: What I'm Focusing on During My Stall (pic)

For the first 16 months out I stalled about every 3 months,,,,its part of the journey and your attitude is wonderful.  It gets frustrating for sure but it can last a few weeks and finding other way to measure is perfect.  The scale can be an evil part of the game! Good to us somedays (mostly) and then vile and disgusting when we try so hard. lol

Topic: RE: Unreasoanable?

You are setting yourself up for a frustrating time....I did the same thing with the goals.  Below 300, then 250 then below 200 etc.  My nutritionist told me something very important, " goals are great and necessary just dont restrict it with a timeline. "  When you start stressing it will impede weight loss and that will certainly work against the goal.  It is so true and in time you will start stair stepping as well which will certainly drive you crazy.  Put away the scale and weigh every couple of weeks.  It is so freeing then and such a pleasant surprise.

We all can relate to the same issues and stories...at least I know I can.  Words hurt no matter the age, and adults are by far worse then kids with stupidity.  Glad you are doing so well...it will keep getting better!

Topic: RE: 100 lbs gone... but I'll never say "forever"

Great post and from the heart....I too remember the envy at the tickers!!! :) and then thinking my goal was so far away,  But here it is, around the corner.  I started with a dream of losing 181 pounds now it's down to a mere 12 to go. Sometimes this isn't easy but it is so worth it.

Topic: RE: 6 days to go

One day at a time, and then you have a new mantra...everyone is different and loses at a different rate!!!  So hard not to compare but with so many variables you really can't!

I wish you all the best the next few days is the end to a life of indulgences!  You will look back and say good riddance! It can seem overwhelming at times but it is worth all the struggle and frustrations!

All the best

Topic: RE: What would you do differently?

The only thing I would have changed is to have done it sooner.  But I would have been in a totally different mind set and may have not have been as committed.  Timing was perfect I had my head in the game and have absolutely no regrets.  I am 13 pounds from goal and it has been an incredible ride.. Down 168 pounds and living and enjoying my life.

You will too stay focused and know there is a wonderful prize at the end! LIFE

Nikke what a fab job you've done.  It shows the level of commitment and that is quite an accomplishment in itself. After surgery you will be so happy with all the changes in how you feel and you will have a body to go with all that extra energy and the ability to do and enjoy so much more.....Again kudos to a job well done!

Topic: RE: A HUGE Personal Six Month Supervised Diet Milestone REACHED!

Wonderful, I had the same determination, I had to undergo a 3 month supervised diet and I am happy to report I lost 39 Pre OP.  I fel the exact same way, make the commitment and stick to it.  It has been 16 months without 1 bite of Fast Food.  Amazing how our lives and MINDS can change!

Congrats and yes you will continue to be surprised with your progress!
