Topic: RE: belly support or belly band
I'm down 130lbs and I have a nice waist, but I have two fat flabs above my waist. I'm going in for plastic surgery in January, but i need something to hold them in for now. I want to wear tight fitting shirts. Does anyone or has anyone used a good belly band?
Topic: RE: Is it gas?
I'm 5months post op and have had no problems till now. For the past couple of days when I eat or lay down I get a sharp pain at the beginning of my sleeve. I have been burping a lot more. I tried gasx and tums but nothing helps. Has anyone else had this problem.
Topic: RE: Sharp pain
I sent you a friend request, I could not be happier with there team. The attention, the program and the hospital facilities are top notch. They have always made sure I understand everything, I've been with them trough two lap bandstand now the sleeve.

Topic: RE: Sharp pain
I'm 5 months post op and have been doing great till Sunday night. I ate something soft and got a shrap pain in what I thoughts my esophagus, I figured it would go away. Then on Monday the pain would come and go it would give me problems when I eat or drink. I thought it was gas so I tried gas x, that didn't work. Now I get the pains while laying down. It feels like its at the tip of my stomach. Anyone have anything similar?

Topic: RE: Plastic surgery
How long should you wait till plastic surgery? I had my vsg in February and I'm down 72 lbs, I only have 40 more to go. I'm working with a trainer 3 times a week and walk anywhere from 3 to 5 miles a day. All while only eating about 800 calories. I feel great, except for when I peel all the clothes off, then I see what's left. My goal is to have plastic surgery in December or January. Do you think that's to soon? I'm only doing a breast lift and removing all the hanging skin from the stomach. The trainer is helping with the arms and legs.

this has been the best life change I could have ever asked for, since my band in April 2010, I'm down over 100 lbs and 6 sizes.
Topic: RE: HELP! Weight loss after band to sleeve revision
I had two bands replaced and then decided to get the sleeve after the last slip. It's only been a month, but it was the best thing I ever did. I love my sleeve. I no longer have the tightness from the band. I lost 27lbs in three weeks after being sleeved. So to answer your question. YES you will lose that weight while your on the liver shrinking diet and after on the liquid and mushy diet. Good luck.

Topic: RE: gummy vitamins?
I second the Costco gummies, they taste great and don't leave a medicine taste. I also crush up centrum and mix with a spoon of apple sauce then take a sip of water.

Topic: RE: Did I eat like that!
Wow you guys lost the point of the post...and the person that wishes they could still eat like that...you are crazy, the whole point of the procedure is to recognize a problem of eating to much. I can say I never want to eat like that again.

Topic: RE: How is your acid reflux?
I was a bandier and had the VSG last month. I had honorably acid reflux with the band and the only thing that worked for me was nexuim 40mg. It's expensive with insurance, but well worth it. Once I got my reflux under control I switched back to previcid 30mg. That seem to work.

Good luck.

Topic: RE: Did I eat like that!
I just got back from going to lunch with some friends and just to see what they ordered made me sick. First it was appetizers (crab pretzel) then one ordered Nachos, other ordered chilli dog and fries and the other burger and onion rings.... me I had a cup of chicken soup.

Then to fini**** off they had peach cobbler and lava cake.

It was like I was in the scene of a movie watching them eat each bite in slow motion to the point it made me sick. I bet they each ate at least 2,500 calories each.

I can't believe that was me and wow what did people around me think. I'm proud I stayed with my plan and don't get me wrong if I could I might have been right there eating with them. What an eye opener...I never want to be like that again.

Topic: RE: Skin discolorization and Dermatologist
yes, I have that problem also. My Dr said it's from the legs rubbing together when we had to much weight. I'm just waiting for plastic surgery.

Topic: RE: Insurance doesn't cover surgery at all
do so research I'm in Maryland and they are a state that requires health care providers to pay for weight loss surgery. I think the law went into effect in 2009. I'm sure you can google and find out info. My husband had BC/BS and they paid for all of his surgery. Could it be the submission package?

Topic: RE: 6 days post-op and feeling yucky
Did the doctor give you nausea meds? If not tell them your issues, if have them take them. They will help you. Also try warm water, ho****er and cold water to see what will work better for you. Good luck

Topic: RE: X-post. thinking about revision to VSG
I agree I had two bands within a year and both slipped. I'm only 3 weeks out but VSG is the best thing I ever did. I wish I would have done it in the first place.

Topic: RE: Not a good day
I was so tired yesterday that I went to bed at 7 and didn't wake up until 8 this morning. I have a major headache and I'm not sure if it's because I didn't get enough water in yesterday. I started soft food today and went with an egg. It was good but made me a little nauseas. This protein thing is killing me, I just want some energy. I'm owing to try crab or lunch..hope I can keep it own.

Topic: RE: Queasy First Thing in A.M. - Dehydration?
I'm not at your stage yet, but my nut said to try just one new food a day to see what will work and won't. I did try hummus the other day and it made me sick to my stomach.

Topic: RE: I am a mess-only the 1st day!
Try getting a small blender from target or Walmart then put your protein shake in the blender with ice. I second adding flavoring.. I got sugar free coconut sryup and added to caramel protein shakes. Almost tasted like Starbucks. Also get the frozen no sugar added fruit like strawberrys and add one or two to a shake in the blender. It helps.

Topic: RE: recovery time?
I was went through a revision from the band to the sleeve and went back to work the next week. I might be the lucky one, but I've had no pain or issues. I felt normal on day 6 to the point on day 7 I had to get out of the house. I wish you luck.

Topic: RE: 11 days post op and this liquid it getting old
I'm a revision from a lap band, so I've only lost 17lbs since I was sleeved.

Topic: RE: curious question about wendys chili ???
everyone keeps talking about wendy's chili, is it that good or is it that easy to pick up on the go?

Topic: RE: 11 days post op and this liquid it getting old
it's crazy how many different plans there are out there. I wish the doctors would find one and stick with it. I would love to start on mush foods, but I can't.

Topic: RE: 11 days post op and this liquid it getting old
I have the nectars, I'm just can't get myself up to trying it. Maybe I'll make that my goal this weekend.

Topic: RE: 11 days post op and this liquid it getting old
It get's better, after the surgery you won't be hungry it's a chore to eat.

Topic: RE: 11 days post op and this liquid it getting old
I'm having such a hard time getting in protein. I'm living off of greek yogurt, I eat 2 a day and some soup. I'm getting in about 48 to 55 oz of water, but I know I'm not getting in enough protein. I'm not hungry, but when I do eat my stomach makes all kinds of noises, is that normal? It sounds like when your hungry, which I'm never.

I've given up on protein shakes, I'm lactose intolerant now and the shakes and injury make me so sick I can't eat the rest of the day. I just cheated and took a small scoop of peanut butter an let it melt in my mouth. My doctor wants me to stay on liquids for another 10 days. I hope I can make it. I've never wished for mush foods in my life.

Topic: RE: Yuck mouth!
Well that's good to know that's what that yuck taste I have all the time.
