Topic: RE: NSV
So i am litterally 4 months post op! and rocking this sleeve hard core! Ive been in a semi stall since 3 months post op only loosing 2 or 3 pounds, I know what its because of and I am making the necessary corrections in my life to fix it. Anyways on to my amazing NSV!!!
Last year just about this time we went to Bush Gardens, obviously I gorged on Churros, icecream, little italys handmade cataloni you know the normal thing, and I barley yes barley squeezed into the seats on all the rides. That was about 100 pounds ago.
I am so proud to say I didnt sit down once becuase I was tired, or out of breath. My feet are a little swollentoday but you spend 9 hours in a theme park and tell my how yuor puppies are doing lol
THough I still had this irrational feer that I woudlnt be able to ride.
Seriously my mind was playing games with me, but I was able to ride all of the rides more that 2twice and never even had to "suck it in" or "squeeze" into one freaking thing.
VSG friendly food does not exist in most of the park, the BBQ place and I became friends, obviously i know the sauces are not ideal but you do what you can with what you have

I hope all my fellow sleevers are having a great week!

Topic: RE: "It Works" Wraps?? Anyone heard of them??
I dont have an expereice with one yet but I have a friend who does them all the time and they are working for her, her WL has been without wls so her skin issues are not near as drastic as mine are but she mailed me one last week hopefully it works :D

Topic: RE: Oh what to tell the hubby when he says, "What's for dinner?"
It wasn't my husbands choice for me to have surgery so I feed him or precook meals on the weekends so that he is always fed my lifestyle changed his didn't. Hisonky decisions to food are when we go out cause I don't have cravings so I just find something to eat wherever he decides

Topic: RE: NSV
Whoooooop I can get in a tanning bed and not feer a cracked glass incident! I never had anything like that happen but I realllly worried about it at one point I had to quit tanning due to my fear lol

Topic: RE: For the ladies.. Anyone have their period on surgery day??
Oh man let's me tell you I had mine and I am allergic to pads so I had to go oh'natural but man left me tell you there is no shame when you wake of from surgery the nurse was using wet wipes to "tidy the mess"

Topic: RE: SV and my birthday :))
Today is my birthday and in perfect timing I stepped on the scale and finally made it to ONEDERLAND!!!!

Topic: RE: Unsweet tea
I drink half sweet half unsweetened tea no issues

Topic: RE: 3months post op appt
I was taking the metamucil fiber pills, only 3 grams of carbs in a serveing but i was only taking 2/3 of a serving of the pills so only 2 carbs

Topic: RE: Sweet tooth?
I'm starting to have this issue too, I try and go for the healthy option like a few grapes or some other fruit.
When I crave salty I go for cheese, nuts or cheese crisps

Topic: RE: 3months post op appt
He prefers us to take the afters cause you can drink with them, this pills are big but don't bother me though... Also He told be that the wafers are more effective and If I don't take something I don't go for a week and that is a literal hint :x
I do well on lower carbs and I'm terrified that if I up my carbs drastically my loss will slow :/

Topic: RE: 3months post op appt
So I saw my rocking dr today, I'm at 50% excess weight loss he's saidi am losing faster than most of his patients.
I am no longer allowed to take the fiber pills either which is pretty upsetting cause he told me to start eating the Metamucil wafers, I bought some today they are tasty but they have 15 freaking g of carbs andim so torn cause on a regular day I get only 10 a day max do I take the pills or eat the wafers???
Other than the carb issue which he told me to relax and eat what I wanted (within reason obviously.)
I no longer am anemic!!! Weird how weight loss has cured my anemia that's been battled for 4 years now.
I'm down from a 22 to a 14 in pants and 2x to a large shirt
Down over 50% excess weight
Not much more to go till my surgeons goal which he amended from 180 to 169
Sleeves rock!!!

Topic: RE: cost of sleeve
My out of pocket was $0 but. Can only imagine what insurance paid :o

Topic: RE: Dining Out with a sleeve
For the record nothing in a kids menu is nutritious
Eating out post-sleeve is a breeze to me.
For example tonite we had Texas roadhouse I order the prime rib 10oz a house salad and baked sweet potato without the butter cinnamon or sugar
I ate about 2 oz of the steak a bite of the tater and a few bites of salad.
Places like chickfila have the grilled biggest in their child's menu now so that's a option if you have no other choice.
There's always an option for you, if your spouse or partner orders an entree' see if there's a shrimp sekwer and eat a bit of their veggies
Oaky off of the soap box now

Topic: RE: Did ur tastes change after surgery

Topic: RE: So What Food Do You Eat That Gives You Total Bliss?
Now at this point my "to die for" food is shrimp and spicy ****tail sauce or crab legs and lemon wedges. In the beginning my favorite was taco bells pintos and cheese

Totally feel you,,,, I turn 22 in a month and my boobs are gone and they look at the floor most of the day unless supported by some VS which thanks to my sleeve I can wear!
