How do you get to the "mindset" of not eating.  I am having such a hard time.  I want to snack constantly.  A lot is hormones, but a lot is lack of willpower.

Topic: RE: What was your post op experience with PCOS

My hormones went INSANE. Before surgery I had stopped having a period all together, I had been on Aygestin for years to stop my cycle, and it did, 3 weeks post op, I started spotting so my doctor put me back on the Aygestin.  It didn't work. So he thought maybe some good old fashion birth control might work.  Nope.  Pure estrogen, nope, progesterone, nope.  I finally had a D&C and THAT didn't stop the bleeding.  I bled HEAVY more or less (14+ incontinence pads a day) for 6 months.  I had to take FMLA leave because I was missing work it was so bad.  There was no medical reason for the bleeding either.  All my bloodwork showed the hormones were at the levels that should stop the bleeding.  Finally, after about 8 months and when he put me back on a full dose of Aygestin again I stopped, but still have a period (even though I shouldn't).  It's also made losing weight really hard, I am starving constantly.  I"m also not eating the right things, so I know that's on me, but it has been a long road.  I really hope that yours isn't as bad and it takes longer than almost 9 months for things to straighten out for you!

I haven't had my offical weigh in this week, but if I stay about where I am I will be about 145lbs lost.  I'm so close to 150lbs AND being under 400lbs for the first time since right after high school.

I can't believe this is the same shirt!

I'll take whiskers only compared to the fresh hell I have had since surgery.  I bled almost the entire monthS of April and May, ended up with a D&C, had to file FMLA paperwork because going through 20+ over night/incontenence pads a day I have had to miss a considerable amount of work, and now we're "playing" with birthcontrol options to see what will keep me from this constant flooding.  Also, the moods and facial hair are insane!

I feel completely off track.  I AM completely off track.  My husband and I both.  We have been discussing trying to refocus, maybe start the gradual diet from day one, with liquid.  What would you/have you guys done to kind of hit "reset" and get your weighloss going again?  Is it possible to get some restriction back?  I feel like I can eat way more than I should.

I feel like I have failed.

Topic: RE: Confused about NSAIDS
Here is how our doctor explained it to us...NSAIDS can cause ulcers.  An ulcer in a regular stomach is a big deal, and ulcer in a stomach our size is a HUGE deal.

My doctor has given me a prescription for Mobic for pain, he said as long as I am careful with it (take it every other day to start and now can take it every day) he would rather I be moving than not in pain, IF I tolerated it ok.  But I have to besure and keep my labs up to date and try not to use it every day if possible.  He has also given me a prescription for pain meds as well to help.

I hope this sheds some light on it! :)

Topic: RE: Weight Loss
I started out really big, almost 550lbs, i've lost 135lbs in 4.5 months.  I am only now starting to notice my clothes changing though.  A lot of people seem to not need to buy new clothes until about month 3.  I would suggest buying your dress around mid-october, a little small, and then make sure you can have it altered closer to the wedding.  Good luck and congrats!

Topic: RE: what should I do? advice?
Being a woman is a *****  I am having the same issues right now because of hormones.  I would put money on that is what is going on with you.

Metformin when taken right will actually help you lose weight.  The millions of times I have been on it, it helped me.  Once it gets in your system and leveled out, it will curb your appetite.  If you have to, add an extra protein shake, that will give you some extra calories, plus protein and should help with the weightloss.  Try the GNC lean shake, it is awesome, 170 calories, 25 protein.

I hope this helps!

I don't have any fallopian tubes so it wouldn't matter either way.  The only way I can get pregnant is through IVF, but thanks for the concern, it is something that needed to be said incase someone else stumbes upon this thread!
