Topic: RE: Do people dump with the sleeve
I am 2 1/2 months postop and have had a couple scary episodes with sugar. The first episode was when I had some lemonade immediately after working out. The rush of sugar to my system caused me to have cold sweats, see spots, and actually pass out. The same thing happened after eating a mini sized Milky Way the other day. Kinda scary. I RARELY eat sugar, so the flood of pure sugar was just a shock to my system I'm sure.

I've never experienced the bathroom issues associated with dumping though.

Heck yeah!!! You are looking awesome!!! Very cute outfits too. We need to go shopping together

Congrats on being sleeved!! It is very important to follow your surgeon's guidelines. Although you may be tolerating foods well, the staple line in your new stomach is still healing. Advancing your diet too soon could cause complications. Only your surgeon should approve altering your diet plan.

Stay focused. You'll do great! This is just a very short period of sacrifice in exchange for a wonderfully healthy life! Good luck on your journey!

Topic: RE: slow weight loss
I felt like a slow loser too at one month out. Everyone's body reacts differently to this surgery. I am 2 1/2 mos postop and the bulk of my weight came off in the preop diet and within the first week. Then my body went through a very long stall....like 3 weeks. It is normal. I steadily lose 2-3 lbs a week now, sometimes I lose nothing at all....but sometimes I lose 5 lbs in a week. My advice is to avoid being a slave to the scale. Take your measurements, feel the difference in your energy level and overall health, and watch for small
changes in your body (take lost of pictures). Stay on your eating and exercise plan and you will be successful! good luck!

Topic: RE: Thinking about having sleeve
Welcome and congrats and starting a journey to a new, healthier life. Even if you don't have surgery, just making the effort to find a way to turn around your health is a step in the right direction.

I will tell you that being 2 1/2 mos postop, I feel absolutely wonderful!! I have lost 50 lbs since I started my journey with the insurance required supervised diet.

Good luck to you!!

Topic: RE: Newbie.. Pre-op Diet starts today
Welcome and congrats on starting your new journey! The preop diet is definitely a head trip. A piece of advice...make sure to keep yourself busy. I had the hardest time with head hunger only when I was bored. The second week, I was on vacation and the preop diet was a breeze. GOOD LUCK!
