Topic: RE: Snacks
 Looking at all the numbers, yes.  Don't worry about what is snack food vs meal food vs breakfast, etc.   If the numbers work then it is all good.

Topic: RE: Upset with my surgeon or should I be?
 Dang, I'd be pissed too.   I saw my Doc for 2 pre-op appointments and he came in to speak to me as I was being prepped.  I saw his nurse practiotner in my room that night but saw him each of the next three mornings before I was released.  Granted I haven't seen him in any of my post op appointments but I haven't had any issues either so it really isn't necessary.   He did give me a hug when i passed him in the hall though! :)

Topic: RE: Anxiety About Gastric Sleeve
 Pretty much everyone on this forum has had the sleeve or is on track to have it,   The surgery really isn't new, it has been done for years in the case of stomach cancer, etc.  The only thing that is new is using it as a treatment for obesity.  As for complications, there seems to be far more complications with the band than with the sleeve......look for some posts from people revising from the band to the sleeve.

I was sleeved Nov. 22 and am doing great.  I have never been sick, never felt bad and nothing weird has happened. I am thrilled with my sleeve and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Topic: RE: I'M HOOKED ON DRY ROASTED EDAMAME
 I buy the Good Sense roasted soy nuts at Publix. They are in the produce section.   Be very careful of your quanitity though, it is easy to eat too much.  I measure out a 2 tablespoon portion when I take them to work for a snack.  Eat them one at a time!

Topic: RE: Getting Rid of Clothing
 As soon as I deem they are too big they are gone. I take clothes by the Goodwill box once every couple of weeks.  It is toxic for me to have old fat clothes around.   Besides, it leaves more room for cute new smaller clothes!

 I recieved your original post in my email alert.  I don't understand what is juvenile about calling out a troll.  I find it offensive and hurtful when someone comes into our supportive little world and insults our intelligence with this kind of post.

Topic: RE: B12!!!!!!
 It depends what kind you have.   Sublinguals are generally a daily dose but the nasal spray is a weekly. Is that what you have?

Topic: RE: No clothes!
 I've gone to the Goodwill twice and I just can't deal with it.  It smells horrible and after flipping through clothes my hands were greasy and dirty.  Even though there are tons of clothes there really wasn't much to choose from, I don't know how to explain it.    There really wasn't much over size 18 and I have quite a ways till I get there.    I'll just have to make do for a little while.

Topic: RE: No clothes!
Don't get me wrong. I am thrilled to be getting rid of big clothes.   But yikes, this warm spell we are having is killing me.  I have no shorts left and don't plan to buy any for a couple more months.  At least I have a jillion pairs of flip flops so my feet will be cool

Topic: RE: Please help me with low-carb vitamins and supplements?
Everything I take is a tablet except for the co-Q10 and 1 fiber gummy.  The co-Q10 is a gel cap and doesn't seem to have any cals ..at least none are listed on the bottle.  The fiber gummy has 5 carbs and 15 cals but I only take one a day.   Believe me, those 15 cals are worth it!

For calcium, try the Citracal petites. They aren't that small but they are smaller than regular ones and go down so easy.

Topic: RE: goal for ppl 300+
 I'm having trouble setting a goal weight too.  At first I was throwing out 150 (I'm 5'4") but I don't think that is reasonable or even possible.   My surgeon's scale says I have 147 lbs of fat-free mass as of 2 weeks ago.  I don't know how much that number will change as I lose but I certainly won't be losing bone and muscle mass.

So at this point, I don't really have a goal.  I want to get to 175 and assess where I am and maybe get a real body fat test (the water tank, etc) to help determine where I need to be.

Topic: RE: BAKED/MASHED POTATO
 Why not go for something with some protein instead of straight carbs?  One of those tuna salad kits from the grocery store would would work.

Topic: RE: Recommendations for Food Scale, ETC..
 I got a scale from Bed Bath and Beyond.  It was around $30 but I always use the 20% coupons they send out.   I just put my plate on the scale, tare it, then weigh the food.  For stuff like cottage cheese I use a regular measuring cup like you'd use for baking.

Topic: RE: Vitamin help
 Here is my schedule:

When I first wake up - calcium

with breakfast - multi-vitamin, stomach acid pill, Vit D-3, B-12, Co-Q10

mid day - calcium, 1 fiber gummy

with dinner: multi-vitamin, vit D-3  (I take exta D because mine is low. you may not need it)

just before bed - calcium

~~~~~~~~~~
Don't take calcium with iron, the iron with inhibit the absorption.  Since my multi has iron in it, I wait 2 hours.   Vitamins should be taken with food.  Calcium can be taken any time.
I take a mega-loaded multi from the health food store, Citracal petites for calcium, and whatever brand for D-3 and Co-Q10.
Topic: RE: a Quick 'Hi' and question about exercise
 A few weeks prior to surgery I started working out with a personal trainer.  We do cardo and weight work three days a week.   I try to add in at least one more day of cardio but I don't always make it...I need to get better about that.
Topic: RE: Program fee
 I paid a $250 or $275 program fee.   It covered all the extra classes and materials that insurance wouldn't pay for.  Totally worth it IMHO
