Topic: RE: VSG mixed feelings
Most non-WLS people think the Lap-band is less invasive than a VSG or RNY so it must be better. it is reversible and there is no gut cutting involved so it sounds great....until you do your homework!

Topic: RE: so tired
I could crawl under my desk 'a la George Costanza and take a long nap right now.   I've been like this for the last 3 days.  Ugh!

Okay,  just had to whine a little.

Topic: RE: Chobani Greek Yogurt
I hope my taste for yogurt returns.  I used to love it, I ate it all of the time.  Suddenly at about 1 week post op I hated yogurt.  I can't even stand to see it in the fridge.   Teh weird thing is I miss yourt but the thought of actually eating it turns my stomach.

Topic: RE: GRITS!!
Oh I love them too!  They were so warm and creamy and yummy and I knew I could have eaten an entire bowl.   I am actually quite proud that I managed to stop after just a few bites.  :)

Topic: RE: GRITS!!
Are of the devil!!    LOL  I had about 2-3 tablespoons of them and they were sooo darn good and a wonderful compliment to the blackened shrimp I had.  I had to make myself push the bowl away so I wouldn't eat more.  Holy cow though..16 carbs in the little bit that I ate.   It's a good thing I am super low on the carbs today!

Topic: RE: Did you do anything to celebrate 100lbs lost?
I purchased a skydiving trip from Groupon.  The Groupon is good until next November,..when I meet their weight limit of 219 I am going!  That will actually be more than a 100 pound loss but I figure it is a helluva a way to celebrate!

Topic: RE: preppin pre-op list....
After looking all over for liquid Tylenol I finally asked a pharmacist about it.  He said Tylenol pulled all of the adult liquid off the market due to some kind of problem with the manufacturing or storage process.  I ended up buying the Junior meltaways and they worked fine.  I had to use 4 to make a full dose.  I only needed them for a few days anyway so it was no problem at all.

Do a search for Frisco.  He has some fabulous and easy to prepare dishes.

Topic: RE: Food Dehydrator - What do you make?
Cool, thanks.  I just wanted to make sure you didn't mean 3.  LOL   I am going to give your method a try, it sounds great.

Topic: RE: Hospital Stay?
Three nights. My doc keeps his patients in for 2-3 nights..until you fart or have a bowel movement he isn't letting you go anywhere.   Never in my life have I been so happy to fart! LOL

Topic: RE: 2 1/2 weeks on this "diet" and I GAINED weight... REALLY??
Up your water.   30-40 ounces of water with all that sodium just isn't going to cut it.  Even with low sodium it isn't enough.  There is no way you have gained 2 pounds of fat, it is all water.   So drink more, even when you are sick of it!

Topic: RE: A week to go.... tips for hospital
I brought all my own toiletries and was sooo glad I did.  I used my lotion and Vaseline Lip Therapy a lot!  I also took a box Cottonelle personal wipes and they were a lifesaver, I felt so much cleaner.

Just to clarify...you marinate for 30 hours?  Thanks!

Topic: RE: Soft foods! woo hoo!
So today is the beginning of my soft/puree stage.  With much fanfare I scrambled one egg and added a little shredded cheese to melt on top.  It was the best damn scrambled egg I have ever had! LOL   I had about 3/4 of the egg and about an ounce of NSA apple sauce.   Yummy!

Topic: RE: Survived Thanksgiving without a scale (SV)
Congrats!  I know you are feeling great about your success!

Topic: RE: 3 weeks out today......
These stalls are why I took my scale to my friend's house before my surgery.   I knew I would weigh myself constantly and flip out if things weren't going the way I wanted.   I am resolved not to weigh until I go to the Dr. on Friday for my two-week appt. (it will actually be closer to 2.5 weeks).   Ignorance has been bliss. ;)

That sounds great!  Did you use fresh or frozen spinach?

Congrats!  Your weight loss is fantastic!

Topic: RE: 5 days out, should I drink more??
I get a tiny little ouchy feeling and a definite feeling of fullness.   I'd just fill up a glass and sip on it along and along rather than trying to drink an ounce at a time.
