Topic: RE: Question for Vets

You are Pre-Op. I wouldn't really worry about this right now. Everyone is different and you'll know once you get into that phase. Right now I would concentrate on all of my Pre-Op things. This thought never crossed my mind before I had my surgery. Take it one step at a time. You can't compare things before surgery with things after surgery.

Topic: RE: 2 days out and Isopure sucks

Ditch the Isopure. I couldn't stand it and that was 9 months ago. I didn't drink it and I survived. The most important thing right now is you keeping hydrated, not protein. Try just sipping on water all day and Popsicles. Popsicles were a life saver for me for the first few weeks.

Topic: RE: Do you feel like you are lying????
The only people that know are my Husband and two teens, and my parents. It is no one else's business to know. Our sleeve is only a tool, it's not the only thing that helps us lose weight, you have to eat right following your nutrition plan and you must exercise. You can eat wrong and still gain weight with the sleeve. So when I tell people that I am watching what I eat and that I exercise I am not lying to anyone.

Topic: RE: Straws
I've gotten use to not drinking with a straw. I avoid them altogether. My Doctor said that it allows air in, just like talking and breathing......if that helps :)

Topic: RE: Can I eat the cake?
Don't eat the cake.....why? My advice, if you eat a piece of cake, what's next. Once you say it's ok to eat one bad thing you'll find yourself saying ok to other things that aren't good for you. I threw my SisterInLaw a baby shower in June and I said no to the cake. I chose other healthier options such as fruit and veggies and chicken salad in which I made and knew that it was ok for me to eat. I do not eat anything with sugar, I've come to far to go back to old habits.

Stay on your plan, the appropriate action to me would be staying on my plan, no one is going to notice you not eating cake.

Topic: RE: Am I supposed to be eating three meals a day this early out?
I would focus on getting nothing but my protein in at only 2 weeks out. I was still on a liquid diet at 2 weeks out. Protein shakes are a good source for protein at this stage out. Another important factor is staying hydrated, make sure you're drinking your water. Also try sugar free Popsicles to nick the head hunger.

I wasn't even thinking of trying to get 3 meals a day in at only 2 weeks out. I jaut made sure I got my protein shakes in and all my water.

Keep the faith, sounds like its working for you, you're dropping weight :) what about exercise, are you exercising or walking?

Topic: RE: will sugar make me sick?
I can not handle sugar at all, it makes me feel very sick and nauseous. Even crystal makes me feel sick. I stay away from all things that are sugary or contain sugar.

Topic: RE: Carbs
I was on a full liquid diet for 2 weeks before my surgery and I stayed below 40 carbs. I still stay under 40 carbs a day.

I agree, try and stay under 40 carbs now because it will make it a lot easier once you are sleeved if you start doing it now.

Good luck!

Topic: RE: 101 Pounds Down in 4 1/2 Months
I started losing fast when I had my surgery. I adhere to my eating plan that my Nuttritionist gave me. I started incorporating fruit back into my diet when I had no restrictions anymore as to what I could eat. I eat fruits everyday and fresh vegetables. I love salad also.

Have faith, and stay on the course and you will succeed :)
