Topic: FB Support Group!

Hi there,

It came to our attention that our surgeon (due to liability issues) has taken our FB support group off their intro paperwork.  We don't want to leave anyone out so if you are in the Seattle area and have Dr. Chebli as your surgeon or even if you have a different Dr and want to talk to fellow WLS folks feel free to finds us FB under "Dr. Chebli's Obesity Surgery Patients". It's a closed group so you won't have to worry about other people on your FB snooping and or finding out info.

If you have any questions let me know!

It's that time of the month again! No, no that one.. support group time!

If you're in the Seattle area (Seattle, Eastside, Burien, Kent, Renton, Auburn) please join us at the Sizzler in Tukwila (near Southcenter mall).

This week we're having a discussion about challenges we're experiencing. Whether you are 3 months or 3 years out we all need support and we all have challenges. Come lend your support to those who are in need and get some support for yourself at the same time.

You can sign up for our Meetup group if you'd like and be reminded of the events as they happen as well as RSVP (if you want):

Topic: RE: MEDICAID AND MEDICARE SURGEONS LIST!

Does anyone know what the deal is with Swedish these days? I was told they accept Medicaid/DSHS and Dr. McMahon's web page indicates that he accepts Medicaid/DSHS patients, but when I spoke with them today, their insurance person told me that they are in fact not contracted with Medicaid and never have been. This is puzzling to me based on earlier reports from Medicaid patients earlier in this thread.

Did something change or did I simply get bad information?

I am a little late to the game here and you may have already moved forward, but I believe Dr Chebli (Overlake in Bellevue) does revisions and I could not recommend him more highly.  He is wonderful!

Topic: Seattle Area WLS Support Group Sat. Mar. 9th 2013

Hello everyone!

I hope February treated you well and that March is looking just as bright. The past couple of months we've done technical talks on vitamins and protein and I wanted to change it up a bit and talk about alcohol. Or, more accurately, alcohol addiction or the propensity towards addictions post-op.

I hope that you can join me this month and learn more about the signs and ways to keep on top of this and not let it get the best of you.

As always, if you have questions please feel free to bring them with you to the group or PM me ahead of time so I can include them.

Here are the details:

When: March 9, 2013 at 3:00 PM Where:
Sizzlers Restaurant
16615 Southcenter Pkwy, Tukwila, WA

Best wishes and I'll see you in week!

you need to change your surgeon for VSG on here ;)

Topic: RE: Seattle Area Surgeon

You can also try Dr. Hanafy at Barigens Clinic in Kent- 206-592-5000. He does revisions out of Auburn regional. He's very kind, is easy to get into and those who have used him seem to really like him. I was going to use him but was sent out to Madigan for my revision. I have also heard the WLS clinic in Federal Way that you are going to now is very good.

Topic: RE: Looking for WLS friendly doc in Spanaway area
Don't feel badly, i didn't see notification and it's been how long now since your reply?! I did change docs but only because the other one was biding time to retirement i believe. I have a younger one now but not sure exactly how he feels about WLS. He offered some kind of diet pills which even that was a surprise to me as i've never had that offered before with any docs. Right now i'm working on getting a numbness issue resolved which i started with the old doc and got nowhere. But i did inform the new one that i was thinking of a revision and what kind etc. Will see i suppose. It's been a little over 4 yrs now since i had the sleeve done. Kent is a drive but not too awful long of one, too bad i didn't see this before as i might of persued him as i hadn't switched docs yet at that time. Thank you so much for the reply and i will keep it in mind as never know, i might change docs again, as much as i hate change.

Hope all worked out for you and you did get or are in the process of getting your revision! Have say WOW 2 hrs? I've never had a doc spend one not alone 2!
