I was wondering if you were successful in your search to adopt a child of AA background? I have adopted thru One World in Deerfield Beach, FL twice and I have to say they are very good! They have a lot of babies. Faith

Congrats. Its a long road MAPP class. but worth it. I have 3 bio children and 4 adopted. May be going for the 5th soon. I'm a foster/adoptive parent and a MAPP co-leader. I always love helping people along on their journey to adoption. Somewhere out there are the kids for you. I too always wanted to adopt. Where are you located? I'm in Western, NY Faith

I have children also adopted via open adoption..thru my choice. I could have had them closed adoptions but I felt it was best for them to be open and I LOVE my youngest sons birth mom. SHe is a great gal and gave me an incredible kiddo. What are the ages of your adopted children? I'd love to talk to you about what its like as they get older..if yours are older because mine are still very young. by the way..my RNY was April 5th, 2004. We had surgery almost the same time! Faith

Hi I wanted to say right ON! I am a mom to 7 and we adopted 2 of our 4 adopted children from the foster system while fostering 18 others. (not all at the same time) and adopted a little girl with special needs (cp, shunt, MR) from a private agency and then a little boy AA from that same agency. I LOVED being a foster mom and although we are currently too full (6 under the age of 13) I may go back to it someday. If you are interested in adoption Foster to adopt is a great way to get there!
