'COUNTRY' CLUB photo | Carnie Wilson, Dee Snider

That is Carnie Wilson? She has put back on some weight! She will be on the new show Gone Country airing Friday nights on CMT!

Wow, I like how some of you accuse me of being rude or insensitive. I was stating a fact and putting an image in all of your minds of what CAN happen. To me it doesnt even look like the skinny Carnie or the heavy Carnie. She still looks good...I wasnt saying she did not. Geez people this is just an observation dont  rake me across the coals because I put a picture out here. Take it as an example if anything of what can happen if you slack off, and for women when you get pregnant.

YEA SADLY WE ALL CAN GAIN WEIGHT BACK IF WE DON'****CH OURSELVES REAL CLOSE.  I STRUGGLE EVERYDAY WITH IT MYSELF. I HAVE LEARNED YEARS AGO TO NEVER SAY NEVER OR ALWAYS ON ANY TOPIC CAUSE IT CAN COME BACK AND BITE YOU IN THE TAIL.  IN THIS EXAMPLE I WILL NEVER SAY, " I'LL NEVER GAIN THE WEIGHT BACK" OR "I WILL ALWAYS KEEP MY WEIGHT OFF, EXCERCISE, AND EAT RIGHT EVERDAY.  BUT NOW THAT IS JUST ME. BLESSINGS MINI ME

Wow, could you be any more insensitive?  How would you like it if YOU were in the public eye like that and you "happened" to "put back on some weight" several YEARS after you had your surgery and someone made that comment about you? I certainly wouldn't appreciate it.

I don't think the original poster meant to be insensitive.  We all need to know that this CAN happen to us and often does.  Someone below posted that she had recently had a child.  'Nuf said.  Most women gain quite a bit when pregnant, WLS or not.  I hope she gets her weight to where she wants it again. She did gain weight because she had a child. She was on celeb. fit club that was on tv. She did weigh more than what she looks like she weighs on this picture. I do think she had alot of things going on an fell into depression and that didn't help her weight. But I thought it was great that she went on that celeb. fit club and told her story. Brave lady. She will get back on track. Aleast she didn't go back to her orignal size. I really think it's a struggle for anyone celeb. or not. Teresa M.

Hey, I'm a reformed smoker, but I'd never tell you not to smoke :-)  - ok, I might if I thought it was making you sick! I'm with you on the Carnie thing, she looks wonderful, she also did have a baby since her WLS, so it's no doubt that she'd have gained a few pounds, and not everyone loses every ounce gained through a pregnancy. Sad that people feel the need to criticize those who may have put on a few pounds, or who may not have lost so much, or people who are still heavy. I suppose not everyone remembers what it was like to be picked on?

Wilson Phillips was always one of my favourite groups, and I thought Carnie always had a wonderful voice. It shouldn't be a big deal that since Carnie Wilson had surgery and got thin that she's put on weight.  A lot of people eat for different reasons, and perhaps she was just sick of people carrying on about her weight troubles. There are things that people can do to maintain their weight loss and keep it off...perhaps Carnie after having her baby, wasn't doing what she should have been doing, or doing what was suggested by her doctor. Weight gain and loss happens to everyone.  Some more significant than others...either they gain weight or they lose weight. I would HATE to be in the public eye.  It's like you need to be a size 6 or your life is over.  As long as you're healthy...and have the positive attitude to go with it, I don't think it really matters.

I'm sure that Carnie will get back on track.  Things might just be a bit hectic right now that she can't find the time to maintain a healthy lifestyle any longer. *shrugs* She still looks fabulous.

Give her a break..........she is human. Sh*t happens. No one is perfect. I too have re-gained 30 pounds after losing 100. We dont know what her life is like out of the spotlight. She looked pretty good in her PLAYBOY pics and people ragged on her then too. If she had not done this surgery in the spotlight like she did I dont think many of us would have had it ourselves. Maybe we should consider that and buckle down and try to not regain or fall off the "wagon". What a cruel world we live in... we get picked on as kids and as adults. Sometimes adults are the meanest. It is a shame that someone who knows where she is coming from would even have the nerve to make such remarks. People who live in glass houses should not throw stones. I have put on weight for several reasons....thyroid, hypoglycemic and recent plastic surgery (could not work out for months), depression and age. I have also slacked off on my eating properly and working out.  Its my own fault.  but this is my opinion and my own personal feelings. tammy

I would love for you people who are commenting on Carnie's weight to come back here in 8 years and report in on your regain. According to her website:  http://www.liteandhope.com/carnie_wilson.php  She is still down 120 lbs from her highest weight. It's easy for those of you still in your losing phase to get ****y.  Just wait a few years and see how you are doing then. Susan (who is damn happy to still be 142 lbs lighter than in 2000!!!)

I think most of the responses were positive but I understand what you are saying.  I think when you're in that losing phase or those who have just made goal...you kinda feel that rush of "arriving" or being golden so to speak.  Kinda like what instant celebs would feel, I imagine.  NOT that I have any first hand knowledge of that.  lol

I fully expect that I'll be monitoring my own weight...and more importantly...my health - - forever.

Carnie is really gorgeous even when she was bigger. I still think she looks fab-ola! and yeah I am not gunna say anything because I have been the same weight for few months now. its a constant struggle everyday for me as I am sure it is for her and countless others.  I am happy though and yeah i could stand to lose about 15 more lbs but I am happy with what I have lost.

I dont agree with the people trying to flame... I think its good for people to realize that post-op weight gain is a real possibility. Carnie was/is a "WLS posterchild" and decided to put herself out there so she is going to get more comments then a normal ole person such as me or you.  Its also good to note that Carnie talked on Oprah about suffering from 'transfer addiction' and having a problem with drinking. I would like for Carnie to come forward and talk about some issues she having currently because we can all learn from those further out. While she still may be 120lbs down from her highest as somebody notated... is she still gaining? Will it be 100lbs down from highest? Then 50lbs? Or has her body reached a 'happy medium' with its weight? Has she again transferred her addiction but this time back to eating?? Would be interesting to know!

    First visit to surgeon - 288 ~ bmi 45.1
    2 week pre-op 252 ~ bmi 39.5
    Total lost - 143   Since surgery - 107!

    Goal weight - 155
    Current weight - 145 ~ bmi 22.7
Holding steady at 145 since Feb 2008!

Hm. I don't get why this thread is rude or a threat? Carnie Wilson gained weight. Yep. She sure did-you can see that in the picture. I didn't see anything that said she is less than worthy, a bad person or even a failure. Was that an assumption? Interesting. I didn't assume that. The odds are most will gain some of the weight back. I learned that in my pre-op courses and in the research I have done. It's a tool. We are human. It CAN happen. It often does. Just something to see and think about. I love Carnie too.  I appreciate her honesty. Peace, Therese
