HI I am kinda embarresed and I know I should,nt be but its natural! I have PCOS and one of its side affects is Boils/ Ingrown hair Follicles I get them on my inner thighs under my breasts and My armpit area but Mostly on my inner thighs I have scarring due to these aweful things and they hurt like crazy everytime I get one I know weight definalty contributes to these boils because friction of skin rubbing againsts skin! So down to my question has anyone had this problem and had Weight Loss Surgery improve the amount of breakouts you get or have you stopped getting breakouts all together very curios to know I,ve never seen this question asked yet on this board. Summer is the worst for me thats when I get them the most!!   Four more days until surgery nervous but cant wait to start my new Journey!

yep, I had them all the time pre-op.... post-op not a single one.... I don't have the oily greasy skin and hair in a single day any more either.....  I chalk both of these changes up to a lack of greasy junky food in my new life style..... LOL

Yep been getting them pretty regularly since I was 19 - I had surgery in May - so I'm still early out - but I haven't had a single one.  I do know that b4 surgery - I used to see them more when I was under duress or at my period - but I haven't had one yet - my skin is clearer and like the other poster my hair/skin isn't greasy.

My sister has this too. Hers have been so bad that she was part of an investigation therapy in Miami to help clear them up. I feel for you, but I do think it will probably be better after the surgery. If nothing else, you will have less areas that rub together.

I know very well where your coming from. I have dealt with this for a while myself.  It is very embarrassing more so in summer when you want to wear a bathing suit.    I am only 10 days out  so have yet to see all the benefits but this one I never thought of.  Thank you for putting a good thought into my head.     I wish you a speedy recovery. I have had PCOS from the time i was 16. I know all about the boils. I hated them. I had surgery seven weeks ago and on the three days post op my skin started to clear up. I always had zits and boils from PCOS no matter what i tried. I tried shaving didnt help. My back has cleard up as well as my face. I have a couple of boils left from before surgery under my arm but 95 percent of them are gone. It is weird. This surgery has also made me regular. You know with having PCOS you hardly every get your visit from aunt rose and on my fourth day out i got it. First time in two years. Now i have had two. You will be happy you had the surgery. It has really helped me out greatly. I am already down more then sixty lbs. Good luck and God Bless!!!!
