I have not lost any weight in about 3 weeks. YIKES!! is that normal. I was so happy when I reached my first goal to be under 200lbs but now it seems like I have stopped at 195 and am not going anywhere. Pleasehelp me. Let me know if any of you is going through the same thing. I would appreciate any advise I can get on this matter.

I have lost almost nothing in the past month, but I am close to goal, and keep telling myself that it needed to slow down or I risk going too low. So I'm not too worried at this point yet, but hope to have the last few pounds off by my one year surgery anniversary.

The stalls are normal.  I use them as an opportunity to make sure that I'm following all of my doctors instructions and exercising.  Have you been doing the same exercise regimen for a while?  It might be time to change it.  Sometimes that helps.  If not, just hang in there.  Things will get going again in time.

I've been stuck at 197 for almost 2 weeks.  Grrrr.....   Why is it I lost more weight on my own before the surgery?

Stalls are normal, your not done "cooking" yet my friend. Hang in there. I was at a stall of 197 for 8 weeks...yep count em...I only weigh myself on Sunday mornings, refuse to be a slave to the scale...guess what???? I'm now 162.5 (weighed last Sunday) your body is just recrouping, it's gotta catch up and take a deep breath, the weight will come off. My weight is still coming off slowly but surely..it's not a race it's for lifetime. We get impatient and want it off NOW but alas it's doesn't happen that way. Are you exercising? Be sure to go to a bariatric support group too. You are doing great!

I know I need to stop I am obsessed with the scale. But lately I am even more obsessed since it hasnt changed I weigh myself more than once a day. I need to stop doing that. Also I havent been to a support group in a few months. I think I will go to one so I can talk to others who are going through the same things as me.

My surgeon said that the weight loss "window" is about 12 to 18 months long, and that after that, our bodies adjust and adapt to be able to absorb more nutrients and calories from what we eat, AND we have increased capacity since our pouches stretch a bit.  You are almost at the 18 month mark, so your body may be adapting as we speak.

Stalls stink, but they are a part of our weight loss journey as well.  I just use it as a time to reassess what I am eating, how I am exercising, and how much protein I am getting in.  Sometimes it helps to up your calories a lil bit.  I am a year out and 10 lbs. below goal now, so I am trying to maintain.  I am having TT Aug. 26.  There were times I was stuck for six weeks, but then I would tweak my eating, add a lil more protein, and it would start again.  Just be patient.  Congrats on your success, and best wishes for the future!!

I was an advid Weigh****cher prior to surgery and many times the leaders would suggest changing it up a bit...meaning eating different foods...sometimes we get in the same rut and we eat the same foods for each meal, offering us very little variety. I found it to work pre-surgery, I am hoping it will work post-surgery.
    Good luck
