My daughter told me they are made by Spanx, but they never have the style I want.

That's because Assets are made by Sara Blakely, who designed Spanx.

I bought Lipo in a box and was very disappointed.............I bought the thong one that goes to right under your bra, the back attaches to your bra straps, that means you have to completely undress to use the rest room...........that one was not well thought out before it was made.....

    Made it to ONDERLAND!!!!!!!

That is why I prefer the regular panty length legs. I pull the leg to the side so I can use the restroom. My problem is on my waist and not my thighs.

Lipo in a box!  I have the high waist panty with a gusset (no potty problems)  Much better construction than Spanx (which i have also used)  the cheap Target versions are nothing more that control top panty hose.

Thanks for your reply. I have used Lipo in a Box and really like them. It  is great to have input from someone who has tried the different brands.

I can't speak for Lipo in a Box, but I think Spanx are garbage, for the most part. I, personally, prefer Dr. Rey's Shapewear from Sears. I buy the high waist step-ins.

Are they thicker like a girdle, thin like panty hose or somewhere in between? Do they come in nude?

They are thicker than panty hose - but I don't find them uncomfortable at all. They offer great support, and I can still breathe! Yes, they come in nude. Thats what I have.

These are the ones I have -

They also come in high-waist briefs if your thighs are ok don't want the longer legs.

I have also tried these and they work well.  They are very comparable to the Lipo in a box.  I think they are pretty uch interchangeable.  But both are far superior to Spanx.

Another really good product is Flexee.  They make both bottoms and tops which are compression style.  They are a Maidenform product and come in a lot of styles and are really good quality.  You can them at the Maidenform stories, Ross, Marshall's and TJ Maxx.  Last weekend, I hit a big sale at the Maidenform in Lake Elsinore and got 8 pieces for $43, including tax.

I ran into the problem of all my underpants and bras being way too bad very early in the game, coupled with the fact that I am on the treadmill so much that I will take support wherever I can get it.  Knowing that I am going to go through so many different bra sizes, I am hesitant to buy more bras and the compression camisoles (whether they are Flexee, Spanx, Assets, Marilyn Monroe or whatever brand) actually provide very good support and don't show (except intentionally; take a look at the bar mitzvah pictures on my profile, that's an Assets camisole you see, the dress was brand new, I had bought two weeks earlier and I was already swimming in it).

My favorites are the ones that go about three quarters of the way down my thighs.  They feel absolutely wonderful.

I needed something to hide the apron of skin around the abdomen for my wedding and I tried everything with no luck.  I got the Spanx because I really thought it was supposed to be a superior product and I don't like it.  It rolls down from the top and up the legs and that is so unsightly.  I expected more from something so expensive.

To be really honest with you, Im a GIrdlle Girl! I wear one every single day!!!  I really believe Im addicted to them, to be honest!!!. I wear the high waist panty girdle. I only where girdles that are made of micro fiber (very comfortable, but very supportive). You really have to be careful with Spanx and other Nylon products that make you sweat and roll down. YES...Spanx will roll down on you, and you will immediately have a "muffin top" (definition of a muffin top - that puggy roll you get when the girdle is too tight and your fat sips out the top...LOL!)

With all that said, I usually get my girdle from Target. They have great girdles... made by Hanes. There great and cheap!!! About $13. Lane Bryant has some high wait girdles also, but let me start by saying, they are EXPENSIVE!  Also they have these snaps in the crouch part and if you pull the girdle up to high, all the snaps will come apart in your pants! The first time it happened to me, It scared me because it feels like FIREWORKS in your pants!!! LOL.  I also got a great girdle from Marshalls. Great Tip: Get a Girdle a size SMALLER...especially if its made by Micro Fiber.

Honestly, you just have to look around and find one that works for you. Micro Fiber ONLY WORKS FOR ME!!! Flexee is also good...but if your looking for a daily girdle, LOOK AROUND!!! They are Life Savers!

I've not had surgery yet, but was looking around on the net for shapewear.  Right now, I cannot imagine wearing shapewear or a girdle, as I am always so warm, & the thought of wearing shapewear just makes me start to sweat! Am I hearing from everyone that the shapewear is a Godsend until you can have tummy tucks, etc?Everyone had great posts & thank you for the info.

Lane Bryant makes one that is absolutely perfect. They have no snaps in the crotch, they are heavier than control top panty hose but lighter than a girdle. I get the high waist ones and they cup up to right under your bra, and they stay up. I wore them when I was at my heaviest and I still wear them. I looked at them just now to try and get you a brand name, but there is not one there. I have them in tan and black...wish I could give you more information! Lane Bryant also has a heavier brand that snaps in the crotch...but like another poster said, they tend to come unsnapped. I always sewed the crotch when I got them so that wouldn't happen. I like these other ones better anyway. They are a bit expensive, though.

    Good luck!
