Weight Loss Surgery Directory

    Plastic Surgeon

Well, I think I am ready to explore plastic surgery...I have an apron flap.  I am thinking that by this time next year I will have it done..problem is I don't know where to start looking for a surgeon who specializes in wls skin and tummy fixes...any suggestions ladies and gents?
This website and OH magazine both have directories of plastic surgeons who specialize in massive weight loss patients. You're correct...you want somebody who has done these procedures before. There is also an active board here on OH for people undergoing plastics and there may well be recommendations if you tell them where you live (you profile doesn't say). Good to plan ahead......good luck Susan

I'm having my apron removed on 3/211.  The plastic surgeon seems to think that I have 15-20 lbs of excess skin.  The only advice that I can give is to talk to your PCP.  My regular doctor has given me really good referrals.

I found two I really like a great deal, Alejandro Crespo is one, I would have gone to him but he was in Tijuana at the time and I'm not about to spend 2 weeks in a hotel in TJ!  But he was planning on moving but i don't know if he did.

I'm going to Juan Luque.  If you want his contact info feel free to PM me.

I believe I still have Dr. Crespo's email address as well, even if he did move it should be the same.

I used a residency program, I don't know rather they did lots of wls patients or not, they did a terrific job, I had an extended tt with muscle tightening for 4k back in 2006.

Here's my before surgery and my after.

How would you find out if there is a residency program in your area

Teaching Hospitals have residency programs, I used Yale in CT, I am sure you can google then in your state and find some also.  I know there is a list online somewhere also, I think Dr J Lo posted something about it on the plastics board before.  I never really paid attention because I already had the info, but its worth researching.
Wow Heidi!  Thank you for sharing, this gives me hope... your surgery change is inspirational!  I will look into the info you gave!
Thanks, my tt was definately the best thing I have ever physically done for myself, I am stil in awe, even 4+ years later.
