    help i am in terrible pain

    i woke up with a burning in my gut that moved to my side and  now there is a something that feels hard in my stomach.  all of this with no warning.  I havent eaten or had anything to drink all day.  help.  surgery rny, was 13 months ago

     Call your surgeon, and go to the ER. I'm not a doctor, and even if I were, this is something you want to have looked at. Good luck.

    Sorry but I am stumped on this one.  Why don't you make a call to the surgeon?  This sounds bad enough for an after hours call.

    Always call your surgeon first if possible.  Many times the doctors in the emergency room don't know how to handle bypass patients!!

    thank you all, I took your advice and called my surgeon, they called me into the er for a ct scan, came back positive for a hernia, had surgery yesterday first thing and came home tonight.  If not for your gentle prodding, I would probably still be rolled up in a ball trying to "tough it out."  Friday night I was out with friends and fine, Sat afternoon in the er and sun am in surgery.  Wow.
