A quarter cup is technically 2oz, but anything you can make fit in a measuring cup you should measure that way for portions.

It depends on the size of the almonds. Basically, it's a handful of almonds. A small handful though.

I used to measure the nuts all the time but now I can eyeball them and be pretty accurate. I still measure once in a while to make sure my eyeballs haven't grown. LOL

If I had some almonds at home, I'd measure them for you but I only have pistachios and cashews.

40-48 almonds in 2 oz. according to Ask.com, and 1.5 oz is 1/3 cup.  How long after surgery were you allowed to have nuts?  I was just reading over my food lists and they are listed under the foods to avoid, but they have so much protein I'm not sure why.  Thanks!

I don't have any whole almonds here or I'd do the hard work of figuring it out. Here's how:

1. Get a 1/4 cup measuring cup.

2. Get your almonds.

3. Fill the 1/4 cup measuring cup with almonds.

4. Count the almonds in the cup.

5. (optional) Put the almonds on your food scale and record the weight for future reference.
