      Hello Friends!

NEW INFORMATION REGARDING GROUP BLOCK AT PRE-CRUISE HOTEL:

Ft. Lauderdale Hotel Link for pre-cruise accommodations! OH has blocked rooms here so you can call them and use the code OBE to get the group rate. If you're driving in, they will store your car for no charge during the cruise if you book a room Sunday night! We'll be meeting and discussing the cruise details, so join us! http://www.holidayinn.com/hotels/us/en/hollywood/fllas/hoteldetail

Royal Caribbean has provided a new more dedicated booking line:  NEW DIRECT BOOKING PHONE NUMBER TO OUR CONTACT: 1-800-465-3595, OH BOOKING CODE 2201863.

Also, we're very happy to announce two important topics for the OH cruise in March that will be presented by Colleen Cook from Bariatric Support Centers International:  1: Hope and Help for the Pain of Regain and 2: The Success Habits of Weight Loss Surgery Patients

We've been hearing that some members are looking for cabin mates to split the cost of the OH cruise in March!  Be sure to visit http://www.obesityhelp.com/events/2012-Obesityhelp-Cruise.ht ml , scroll down to the bottom where comments are so you can all talk about it and share info, or post on the message boards!  There's still room according to Royal Caribbean, and the more, the merrier!  There is one cabin left in our block, and still many outside our block, so come cruisin' and get recharged.

This is going to be a great time to get very good information (and a suntan) and support from Dr. Stapleton, Colleen Cook and Bo McCoy in our conference sessions at sea!  Join us! This is a great way to make some new friends from around the country...we're aiming to really have some fun!

I may also be interested, but would need to find out how much as this is only a few months away.  If not would love to do this next year.  if this is going to become an annual thing (which I think it should be, a great way to stay in touch with others on the same journey)  I will contact the booking number and see what its all about.

OH booking code is also there so they know you're with us!  They handle the pricing and all information, so please give them a call. We sure hope you join us!

Oh Please host the discussion at the Ben and Jerrys onboard, that would be a hoot. Cruises are historically known for all the luscious food, why on earth have a cruise where what you eat is curtailed by topics of regain.  If you wanna starve come spend a week at my house, guaranteed to lose weight and be miserable just like me, same as being on a cruise without being able to enjoy.

Heh.  If Ben and Jerry didn't make me sicker than any other food on EARTH?  I'd hit it.

A cruise really does seem like an odd choice for people who have food issues.

    Naked?

(Actually, I'd need to wear head-to-toe spandex, in order to not frighten the children. Or horses.)

There are horses on this cruise?  Are you sure you got the right boat Ms Batt, is Noah the skipper?  As for naked wrestling in MY fountain, because obviously I called it, there will be none of that, naked or otherwise. It's all MINE!

It depends on the cruise line.  When I went on a European cruise, I lost weight--and that was before my surgery.  The portions are much more reasonable--American portion sizes are out of control.  Also, eat in the dining room, NOT at the buffet, and you get lovely service and normal portions without overindulging.

I've gone on a couple of cruises post op. and actually lost a couple pounds on the last one. they have very "diet" friendly choices if you choose to select them. there is an abundance of fresh fruit and vegetables, seafood, etc. there are opprotunities to be active and have fun outside of eating. its all in the choices you make. Food is a part of life. we have to live. I loved the opportunity to try activities I normally wouldnt, atv-ing, horseback riding, snorkeling, etc. plus I danced my a$$ off every night.

that said I NEED a rom mate - anyone interested? email me valerie.rayborn@gmail.com

Kim, I called the hotel, and the say they have no record of an OBE group. Could you check in to this, and make sure this group exists?

    Thanks!
