    Hi everyone,
so i am post op day one now.  Slept well but its so hard to move around.
They want you to keep drinking liquids but then you have to urinate.  Its so hard to get up and down on the toilet, this would be so much easier if i was a man...

So I thought i was going to get a lap band, but the doctor is the one who decided and he thought it would be better if i got the realize band.  So anyone here who has gotten the realize band?
Can you tell me your experiences?   your weight loss?   any draw backs?

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

I don't know how much diff there is between Lap-Band and Realize, but there's a Forum for each of them, so you could ask there . . .

I have Realize, welcome to the club first of all!

I had a  former co-worker who initially had Lapband and then due to her constantly vomiting (this was due to her own fault, she NEVER followed the plan, and still doesn't!), it eventually slipped and she had to be admitted for emergency surgery about a year and a half in. The dr wanted her to take it out and not replace it, btu co-worker insisted on another band. So this time, they used Realize, and when I last spoke to her, which was in December, she told me that she didn't feel quite as restricted. When I asked why she hasn't talked to the dr, she said she had been working so much overtime she hadn't had a chance to see them or get another fill. Mind you, we weren't offering any overtime when she claims she was, and.... she admitted she and her bf go to an all-you-can eat place at least twice weekly. AT LEAST. SMH.

I like my band, I just had my first fill and I feel slight restriction thus far....

I can do this...I know I can. It's just going to take time & patience.

I have had both. My original was a lap band and my current is a realize. Not much difference that I have noticed.
