Yes. Some revise to another form and some redo their previous bc of malfunction.

It doesn't say what you have. Maybe you are band and want to go to sleeve or rny or ds.

Maybe you are gastric bypass . You will need to see if your stoma is enlarged allowing you to eat and for the food to pass through quickly.

All of those can be revised to duodenal switch, hopefully.

I had gastric bypass.  about 7yr (?) ago.
after loosing loads of weight, I has prolaps and had a total adominal hyterectoym w/romoval of overaires and excess skin removed at lower belly (mini tummy tuck).
since then, I've gain many pounds.

I asked about HCG but probably won't work if I don' t have hormones.?

I don't know what  I would ask the doctor if I can get an updated gastric bypass or what ever it's called.

Thanks for your info though. I appreciate it.

You would need an endoscope to see if your stoma was enlarged or if there is a problem with your bypass. Then you can go from there.

HCG is dangerous. I would not do that. If you google it , I believe the FDA was investigating.

But, my goodness, what are you asking about? If you don't like it, can you have it reversed? If it fails, can you do something else?

    Measure three times, cut once.

Remember that most insurance policies have created a "one surgery per lifetime" clause, whether or not that insurance paid for the first surgery.

Thats only if you have the same insurance.  You will need to check your rider.  I had my RNY with HealthNet and my revision to a Band with Aetna. I also have a revision rider listed on my policy.

No, many insurance providers have a "1 surgery per lifetime" clause whether you were with them or not.  They're getting much more strict.
Pretty pretty please, don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f*ckin' perfect.

Amber is correct. Many have written it so that it doesn't matter whether the insurance B did not pay for what insurance A did. Or even if you paid yourself. One weight loss surgery per lifetime.

How do you think that would work as "one heart surgery or one C-section per lifetime"?

First you need to find out why this one is no longer working, is it the surgery or have you slid back to old eating patterns. Yes they can be revised but you need a surgeon who is skilled with revision surgery and from what I've read you don't want to do the stomaphax or ROSE procedure. Some RNY folks have had success with a band over bypass revision but myself I'm not at all proband for anybody, just my personal opinion. You need to find a good revision surgeon and discuss all the options with them once you discover why you are gaining now. Good luck!
