Just wondering if anyone has had Cushing's Disease and any type of surgery.  I'm almost 16 years post op but was never able to lose the weight that I gained prior to having the tumor removed.....even with a failed lap band which I had for 5 years.

I had RnY on Sept 15th and losing very slowly but finally losing!  My Endo is very happy with my progress so far.

I had a doctors that said I had cushings years ago, but I had contributing factors like taking glucocorticoid hormones such as prednisone for asthma.

I clearly had other metabolic issues too, which is why I chose the DS. I have lost down to a normal BMI, but I lost more slowly then others, and only barely made it to goal. I chose the DS specifically because it supposedly addressed my issues the best.

my dog has Cushings and diabetes. Was yours caused by an adrenal tumor? Are all symptoms gone since you had the tumor removed? We can't afford an adrenalectomy for my dog so she takes lysodren.

congratulations on your weight loss! Judi

Oh your poor puppy!  There are actually more dogs with Cushings than people...go figure.

I had a pituitary tumor and yes the Cushings' symptoms have subsided since the tumor was removed; however, I was'nt able to lose the weight that I gained prior to having the tumor removed.  I've had a bunch of other endocrine and abdominal issues which also contributed to my weight issues. It's a tricky disease.

Good luck with your dog!  I know it must be frustratrating....we love our dog so much!
