I have just realised Im taking in more sodium than needed since I started tracking my food. Seems that the culprit is the weigh****chers meals 860! So this is my problem. I work a hr away. At lunch I go to the gym so the convience of just popping something in the  microwave worked for me but its working against me  . I need something quick to have ready but be nutritional and low in sodium. I do a protein shake in the morning and a protein bar in the evening. Any and all suggestions please

Why not pack something you cooked from home for your lunch?  I am not sure if you have addressed a reason why this is not possible in a previous post.

I would but I normally have a protein bar.
In the evenings Im not really hungry since Im at a group training in the gym until 8. I dont get home from wor****il 5:30 and from 6-8 in the gym.
I have a hr commute to work everyday. So the evenings are pretty rushed.
Also does anyone know the ration of how much % of carbs, protein should make up our meals. Ive been trying to get back on track. Im 10 yrs out and have went back to the basics with great results

    Hey ladyfriend!!

Here is a post I wrote about cooking in bulk.

    http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/vsg/4319820/Preop-Post-op- cooking-for-you-and-the-family/

Information from me is like drinking from a fire hose, so shorter story - I cook in bulk on a weekend day, and then stash things in the freezer in smaller easier to thaw containers.  I pack up my food for "tomorrow" the night before.  It takes me 15 minutes MAX.

Granted, I invested the time/work on the front end by investing the time on the weekend day to bulk cook (or you could use a crock) but that means that 10 minutes or less (and since you have a shake in the morning and a bar at night, maybe 3 minutes to 5 minutes this would take you?) spent each night results in healthful eating the next day.

I do not know about anybody else's carbs, protein, fats.  I just do what works best for me which is higher protein, most carbs from non starchy vegs, except one of my feedings is a Wisecracker cracker bread with a slice of horseradish cheddar and some roast beast.

A shake, a bar and one meal a day would drive me insane with hunger, ESPECIALLY if you are saying that you are working it from 6 to 8 in the gym every week night.  You need to feed your muscles girlie before they knock you on your butt so you will feed them!

Course, I am not the bossa your mind, so just take my concern with a grainn of salt, but be good to you!!  Do not screw yourself with not eating food and working out hard and end up hurting yourself worse!!

    Be sweet to you!!

Do you have a specific health condition where you should be concerned with sodium intake?

    No specific condition.
I just have been using fitday and logged into my livestrong account and it keeps up with sodium intake and had me in the red.

I make lunches the night before. I also cook items that I like on the weekends and portion them out. I could use these for either lunches or dinners. Same thing with salads or yogurts. It also helps with meal planning because what I eat is not always the same thing I'll make for my husband. Although we are both pescitarian, he eats more carb grams, such as pasta, rice, breads, and potatos than I do. If you do not have a place to store your food where it will stay cold, I would suggest an insulated thermal lunch bag with ice packs.
    Hope this helps

I lot of us post op deal with low BP - pressure. I had to start adding salt so my BP stays normal.
"If it isn't broke - don't fix it".
You are functioning, you have good kidneys, you get enough salt - you do not deal with dehydration.
Unless there are issues - why you need to cut salt - don't mess with things.
Most protein shakes, protein bars and some other - little food that we eat does not have a lot of salt.  The little extra salt you getting may actually keep you from getting lightheaded...

Good that you are aware of that.  The extra salt may actually help you extercise.
MY BP is like that - 100/60-65 (after a very strong double expresso coffee)...

My BP runs low, too, and my Dr. advises me to eat all the salt I want, especially after passing out from orthostatic hypotension a few weeks ago. Got up from bed too fast, and then found myself wondering what I was doing on the floor.

    how bout:
boiled eggs, string cheese, jerky, individual yougurt and cottage cheese, lunch meat/cheese,tuna packets ready to eat

IDK,but the protein bar may be hurting you more than the sodium. they are usually hight in carbs...just a thought.
