I thought my days of searching for a good tasting protein drink were over after recently trying Isopure Smoothies that contain
32 grams of surprisingly good tasting whey isolate protein in a 16 oz. serving!
I was thrilled to find out it doesn't have that underlying protein yuk flavor at all and I've tried many, many different brands from grocery store to the most expensive protein powders in search of a protein that doesn't gag me out. While I don't like using artificial sweetners and products with alot of additives I draw the line at using any products that contain partially hydrogenated oils since its a trans fat and it clogs your arteries far worse than saturated fats. Partially hydrogenated oil is the 6th ingredient on the list!
For those of you who are desparately seeking a good tasting protein Isopure Smoothie might be what you are looking for, but it does contain trans fat so be forewarned.
Maybe this community could influence this company from removing trans fat from its product.
Please email them about your concerns.

Below is my letter to Isopure.

    Isopure Co.
I'm a bariatric patient that has to consume a large amount of protein daily.
    60 - 100 mg.
In the bariatric community there is a major problem finding good tasting protein
and protein burnout.  It's a constant topic on www.obestityhelp.com

It's very hard to consume the amount of protien we need via food because
    of our limited
stomach capacity, so a daily protein supplemental drink is very helpful.
I have tried many, many protein shakes and drinks that always end up tasting bad or always
have that undesirable, underlying protein taste that you just can't stomach after awhile. As a non-picky eater pre-op I wasn't bothered by the flavor of protein shakes, but became nauseated just smelling protein products after constantly having to drink them daily post op.
Imagine my utter delight to try my first Isopure Soothie recently,
marveling at its pleasant no-protein after taste flavor, thinking...I need to but this stuff by the case...only to be TOTALLY disappointed when I read that the ingredients contained
    PARTIALLY HYDROGENATED OIL!
    NOooooOOOO!!!!!  WHY????????
Partially hydrogenated oils are TRANS FAT which is the worst fat one can put in their body. It clogs the arteries!
Even if its in small amounts in your product and you can legally list your product
as "zero trans fat", over time all those fractions of a milligram adds up and trans fat is still trans fat. As a company whose products are geared toward people wanting to improve their health and lose weight WHY would you include partially hydrogenated oils in any of your products?! I will warn others about the trans fat in your Isopure Smoothies and won't be using the product as much as I'd like to.
PLEASE!  REMOVE TRANS FAT OILS FROM YOUR SMOOTHIES!
    Thank you for your consideration.
    Sincerely, Vicky Thompson

    I adore the smoothies.

Did you already send this letter?  I'm not finding the fat you list ---

There's 1-2.5 grams of fat in each flavor --

Ingredients: Filtered water, whey (milk) protein isolate, strawberry puree concentrate, pomegranate juice concentrate, raspberry puree concentrate, non dairy creamer (sunflower oil, maltodextrin, sodium caseinate, mono- and diglycerides, dipotassium phosphate, soy lecithin), phosphoric acid, milled flaxseed, pectin, citric acid, cellulose gel, sucrose, cellulose gum, natural and artificial flavors, fish oil, sucralose, FD&C Red 40.

Here's another flavor -- I see what you're mentioning now -- it's creamer.  Proteins have this sometimes for texture.  There are many that include it.

Other Ingredients:  Filtered Water, whey (milk) protein isolate, Peach Puree Concentrate, Orange Juice Concentrate, Phosphoric Acid, non-dairy creamer (Partially Hydrogenated Soybean Oil, Corn Syrup Solids, Sodium Caseinate, Dipotassium Phosphate, Mono- and Diglycerides, sodium silicoalaluminate), Sunflower Oil, Maltodextrin (glucose polymers (Acesulfame Potassium, Sucralose, Maltodextrin, Potassium, Silica, Medium Chain Triglycerides, Natural and Artificial Flavors, Gum Blend, Borage Seed Oil Powder, Flaxseed Powder, Fructose Anhydrous)), Sodium Caseinate, Mono- and Diglycerides, Dipotassium Phosphate, Soy Lecithin, milled flaxseed, Pectin, Natural & Artificial Flavors, Malic Acid, Cellulose Gel, Sucrose, Cellulose Gum, Fish oil, Sucralose

Yes I emailed Isopure and got a reply today.
I got all 3 flavors to try from vitacost.com
Orange Berry, Orange Peach and Berry Pomegranate.
Both Berry Pomegranate & Orange Peach contain partially hydrogenated sunflower oil.
At least it was listed on the bottles I have.
Isopure advised me that the Orange Berry doesn't.
I checked my bottle and sure enough, none in there!
    YEAH!  At least one doesn't.
But WHY do they have to put a trans fat in any of them!
No damn good reason for it!

Those who do not want to consume trans fat might want to keep an eye on the ingredients least they slip some into the Orange Berry at some point in time.

The products in question here are only the smoothies.
I'm not sure if trans fats are in the other Isopure products but copy and paste parts of my letter and make it your own and please do send a complaint to the company.  The more the better. Thanks!
By the lack of response here...I'm surprised more folks aren't concerned about trans fats.
