Okay so I just noticed my multivitamin I ordered from Bariatric Advantage doesn't have iron.  What iron can/should I take at a month out?  Does it matter?

Bariatric Advantage has great iron chewables.  I take 29mg iron chewable  and the Bariatric Advantage multi every day.

Yes it does matter.

I take Proferrin.  It is a heme iron and non-constipating.  It can also be taken with food or other supplements.

Non constipating - that would be wonderful... lol

I'll try it next time I order -

Thanks for the tip!

Yup, I like Proferrin, too. It is expensive but worth it to me, both the non-constipating part and that you can take it with food and other supplements, even calcium.

I take Proferrin Forte since it was cheaper for me to get the Rx version than pay for the over the counter version, esp since I take 2 per day.

Thanks for the heads up! I'll check with my surgeon.

I take the Bariatric Advantage 60 mg iron daily along with an extra vitamin C to help it absorb better. My iron level before surgery in November was ok. I only had my ferritin checked at 3 months and that was on the low side, so I was started on iron at that time.
