I Did It, Now It's Your Turn......

To dig out your prom pic or whatever pic you have when you were young.  I posted this in my other thread but thought it would be fun to see some old pics.

    Vintage 1980 Prom Pic
Hey, you were cute! I wasn't, in 1980. I was cute from 1958 till 1972, and from about 2005 forward...(*grin*)
Thanks!  And of course you are cute!
We must be about the same age ... is that a Gunnysack dress? Remember those?

Yes made by Jessica McClintock.  My mother bought it at G Fox, remember that store?
    Weren't you a cutie :)
I never went to a prom.  In fact, I dropped out of high school as soon as I could so I don't have very many high school experiences.  But I found this picture of me from about 1972 or 1973.  It was my Jr. High graduation picture.  As you can see, I was a mess.  Overweight, ugly glasses, acne, bad perm and bad taste in clothes, although I may be able to blame that hideousness on my mother.  It wasn't exactly an ackward phase, unfortunately.  It was my normal state of being.
No wonder I don't look back at my teen age years with fondness.

I have a bad 8th grade graduation pic with an equally flattering doooooo, it had spit curls.  I was horrified, I loved my dress but my mother made me wear dyed to match shoes like a bridesmaid would wear.  And I had terrible skin from 5th grade forward.  I hated every minute of school prior to 7th grade, I cried myself to sleep at night I was so shy and akward.  Not nice memories but its the past.

LADY TAZZ...OMG..that could be ME..'cept I was bigger..and my dress had a blue ribbon..like I won "First Place Pig", at the county fair, or something..that even looks like my mom's living room looked back then..I think we had that end table/lamp/picture!!

HEIDI--love this!! Have no clue where any pics, from this era are (The Smithstonian??? ), but will go look...

Not exactly the prom, but this was my 16th birthday..thus the shag haircut (remember "Sun In????")..shag carpet (the EXACT same color my HAIR later became)..beautiful furniture...white/stretch/polyester/cuffed pants..smock top...black ROTARY phone..oh yea...eat your heart out, boys...

I'll keep looking for that prom pic-would hate for y'all to miss out on that pink halter dress--with matching cape--that I made MYSELF...yea..it WAS that bad..my date later was executed, by the state of Texas..yea..true story..for another thread...

                                       something new EVERY day !!!

I remember Sun-In, I had a friend with dark hair  that turned bright orange.  I didn't use it thankfully, not that I haven't ****** up the colour of my hair before.  I have had every colour under the rainbow over my lifetime.  I remember the 70's also, I had brown bellbuttom corduroy jeans and my favorite was a floral halter top.  I was always self concsious of my weight when I was a kid, it wasn't until I became a teenager I was in the normal range and then got married and MO, yeah me.

I can't wait to see the prom dress and hear that story, and I thought the fact I dated a kid who later stabbed a teacher to death was bad, or the pedophile who went to jail for trying to lure a 14 year old into meeting him and instead he was conversing with the police.  Can I pick em or what?  lol
Your experience with Sun-In looks so much better than mine! I remember having a school picture with this really bright orange streak through my (then) very dark brown hair! So not pretty!

    OMG Bette that is precious!
Oh Bette, I am so sorry.  I still owe my boys an apology for making them wear sailor suits for a picture.
