    When can I bathe/go swimming?

     Theres nothing in my instructions about when can return to swimming (it's 106 in Texas!!!) Or have a good bubble bath.

    Do you know when it's safe?
    This is directly from the handout I was given at the hospital.

    Resuming your Daily Activities

    To ease back into your daily life, resume normal activities gradually;

     Shower as needed.  Avoid baths, swimming pools, and hot tubs for 2 weeks after going home.  This helps prevent infection at the incision site.

    Continue the coughing and deep breathing exercises you learned in the hospital.

    Your activity will be limited only by your level of discomfort.  Because the incisions are tiny, you can lift up to whatever is comfortable.

    Do light housework.  Avoid strenuous chores, such as vacuuming or lifting full bags of garbage, until the doctor says it is okay.

    Climbing stairs are okay.  Climb stairs slowly and pause after every few steps.

    Do short shopping trips.

     You may return to driving after at least one week or once cleared by your surgeon. Your reflexes and response time may be affected by your surgery and the effects of the pain medicine.  You are more likely to be accident-prone.

    You may resume sexual activity after the first 3 weeks.

    Hope this helps!

    My doctor says 4 weeks so you might want to give your doctor a call to see what his guidelines are.
     yes. You better call your doctor or have a follow-up check-up. :)
     When your wounds are healed (and stitches removed if applicable), it's safe to go in the water again.
