    Pre-Op Diet / Cooking

I am finishing day 4 of my pre-op diet!  I have been light headed for 2 1/2 days but am thankful I am this far into the diet. :)

Anyone care to share how you survived the crazy diet and still keep your sanity while you cooked for your family??  We always do homemade pizza on Friday nights and I don't want this to affect them negatively so I made the pizza. OMG it smelled so good. I 100% resisted even a nibble...yay...but it was very hard!

Good for you for keeping your eyes on the prize.

Pizza days can still happen for you in the future too (perhaps modified slightly) I do a lower carb tortilla pizza which I love but some people eat regular in moderation.

Best wishes to you on your surgery! Hope you will soon feel like I do about having WLS ... best gift I ever gave myself!

I was on the Optifast liquid diet for three weeks pre-op.  I stopped cooking (last child at home was 17) any meals, just made sure she had access to food to prepare what she wanted to eat.

How long do you need to do this?  I did the pre-op diet for 3 weeks.  Is there any other adult or older child that can make the pizza or prepare the food?

    Good luck.

I took a month off of cooking and it worked out fine.  At the time I had a 17 yo daughter and my husband who were both well able to cook for themselves.  If there is anyone else in the house that can cook, I would encourage the same.  This is the time for you to focus on yourself.
