When I have the barium swallow they saw slight reflux which I knew I had that since I've given up caffeine I have had to issues what so ever. They noticed some calcification noted but they were not sure where is was if it was on my kidney or spine. They sent be for an abdominal xray and because it still showed up they wanted me to go for an abdominal CT scan. My GB doctor called me today and told me what was found.  He said that I had nodules on my left adrenal gland.  It was calcified so that means it has been there for some time.  He said it's also found sometimes in people who have been expose to TB which I haven't to my knowledge.  I'm a nurse so I get tested regularly.  He said he's calling my PCP to have him order some blood work. I have no symptoms so there is no treatment at this time other to do a repeal abdominal CT scan in a year to make sure there is no growth.  He doesn't see any need to F/U with and endocrinologist at this time but I think I just may since they are a specialist in that field and I'm not playing around with that.  I think even if it's not cancerous and if my right side is perfectly normal and I can live with one with no issues why don't they just take it out to be safe?  He said that this will no cause any problems with surgery and we are good to proceed as planed so that is good.  Anyone have similar issues with adrenal glands?

Adrenal incidentaloma. This is the most common type of adrenal tumor. It is benign (not cancerous) and often causes no symptoms. Small nonfunctioning adrenal adenomas frequently do not require treatment.

My sister has that. It was detected by accident during some other tests.  She is fine and the doc told her not to worry.

I have a Secondary Adrenal insufficiency.

In any case - you probably need a good endo doc to figure out if things work good enough...

Hello,

I also have an adrenal incidentaloma and have had it for approximately 10 years after having a CT scan to check up on my PCOS and a hernia.  My endo runs yearly blood tests to ensure it does not bloom into something else.  It didn't cause any issues, or require special testing, when having the lap band or gastric bypass surgery.  No special after care required either.  I would see an endo for blood work if I were you just to be on the safe side.  There is no need to remove a incidentaloma if the blood work shows that it is not producing bad hormones and it is benign.  I've had that verified by three different endocrinologists and honestly believe there is nothing to worry about.

Best of luck to you in your surgery :)

After some investigating I think it may be related to when I was 4. I had a ureter bypass on the left side and the tube they had caused lots of pain they room it out. It could be related. I'll be getting some labs done for it to keep checking. Going to look for an endocrinologist to keep an eye on it for sure
