If you are pre-op Optifast is designed as a meal replacement where as Unjury is designed as a protein supplement only. Unjury is for post-op, protein with less sugar etc.

If you are buying the Optifast through your surgeon's office, your surgeon is likely making money on the sale.

It is true, though, that Optifast is designed for more full nutrition (in terms of vitamins) than Unjury where the focus in on protein only, so if you are doing a pre-op diet, that is a consideration.  I have never understood, though, why they don't just have people start vitamin  supplements pre-op as well.

I didn't use Optifast. If your surgeon is recommending Optfast over Unjury, I would ask her why.
