How much did you loose on the pre-op liquid diet? Mine is for 10 days and I'm on day 2. I'm telling myself I've already lost a bunch lol.

I start tomorrow. Soooo not looking forward to this part. I did it with the band in 2009. Not fun.  I think I can...I think I can.

I can't remember how much I lost then??

I have been on a 14 day liquid fast for 12 days...I have surgery this Tuesday.  So far, I have lost 13.2 pounds and tomorrow is an all clear liquid diet (what fun) plus a Miralax cleanse at night so I should lose a bit more.

For me, day 2 was the absolute worst!  Good luck!  It gets easier.

I did a 12 day liquid diet  (I was supposed to have a 14 day liquid diet, but the doctors office couldn't get me into the office until 12 days out, which worked fine anyways), but in 12 days i lost 13 pounds. It differs from person to person. I've heard of people losing as much as 25 to 30 pounds and some people as low as 2 or 3 pounds. But overall i would say on here at least by what I've read in the past is the average amount would be around 10-15 pounds. You also got to take in effect how big you are, the heavier you are the more you tend to lose,. but like i said it varies from person to person. Just remember to listen to what the doctors say during the liquid diet and after surgery and you'll do GREAT! The weight will fly right off you! Good Luck and Congrats!!!!!

I don't have to do full liquids, until the day before surgery. I just do a low carb diet. My VSG is in 1 week. So last week I lost a total of 9lbs. I didn't make it to the gym at all last week (sad about that). I did a ton of non-traditional exercise this weekend though.

This week I step it up by getting back to the gym. I can't wait to see what week 2 brings.

Thanks everyone ! Today is day 3. Feeling pretty good. Being back at work today and staying busy helps.

My nutritionist/Surgeon have all their patients do a minimum 2 week, ideally 4 week liquid diet. I am the lucky winner of the second category! I am on day 22 and I am down 38 lbs. A couple things that worked in my favour: 1)I was allowed Crystal Light, so I basically drowned my sorrows with ice tea. Seriously! I drink about 2 liters of water and 2 liters of Crystal Light a day. 2) I ended up with bronchitis and a cold just before the start of my liquid diet and went 12 straight of “chatting to Ralph” so what I was able to get in didn’t really stay in.

On the morning of day 3, I lost 10 pounds. Curious to see how the rest of the 2 weeks goes.
