For you NEW KIDS, HERE ARE THE RULES:

"B*TCHFest"  is provided as a public service to those of us who have gripes and grievances but who (whom?), for whatever reason, lack a regular forum in which to air them. You are welcome to voice any problems - large or small, important, mundane or ridiculous -  that currently have your panties wadded, your shorts frosted and your gears ground. Don't hold them in and risk future medical issues, wrinkles and/or those pesky gray hairs.

ANY and ALL issues that are plaguing you are open for you to voice; there are no "sacred cows." They say that "feelings aren't facts", so if you're feeling it, it's legit to you. NO ONE is allowed to flame a poster for something he or she writes, however commiseration is not only welcomed but encouraged. Please, no personal attacks against other OH members (at least, not by name) and
ABSOLUTELY NO SURGERY WARS!

I'll start you off with a few gripes of mine, and you all can join in at any time! No limits - come back as many times as you like!

WARNING! Adult content ahead! Posts may (and probably will) contain "adult" content and language. I know that MINE will. Rated TV-MA.

Let's jump in with both feet, shall we?

- CAR REPAIRS! Dammit! Battery. New Tire. Alternator. $854 in 5 weeks. Enough, already!

- People who can't manage to show up for work on time. I'm not talking about being 5 minutes late once in a while because traffic was bad. I'm talking about people who show up 30 minutes late consistently, and then can't seem to figure out why everyone they work with is pissed at them.

- Cops shooting dogs for no reason. Just stop it, already. Shoot some CRIMINALS instead.

- People who seem to think that animal cruelty is no big deal or, worse, that it's funny. No, it's ******g sick. And so are you.

- The same goes for child abuse and elder abuse.

- Ordering a CHICKEN salad sandwich at Dunkin Donuts (I know, but I was rushing to work) and getting to work to find out that it's tuna. I like tuna, and the sandwich was perfectly edible, but I was in the mood for chicken. This has happened three times. Hint, folks: tuna is the one that smells like FISH.

Okay, that's enough for now. It's all up to you. Go forth and *****!

My adult daughter, almost 23, has managed to get herself stranded in a foreign country and being the genius she is she picks a country in the middle of a war.

She managed to travel with a youth group on an all expense paid trip to Israel.  When this was in the planning stages, about 6 months ago, things were fine.  When she stepped on the plan in early July they weren't.

I was hoping they would cancel the trip but I was assured by the people that is will be perfectly safe and they would be accompanied by members of the Israeli army.

I was reassured until I contacted my daughter to find out when she would be home and she informed me that she was staying for another month.  I thought that would be with the group but it turns out genius girl met a man in Israel, an Israeli, and decided to stay with him.  No more group protection.  She said it was fine because he used to be in the Israeli army.

Then I find out that because she didn't leave with the group she lost her plane ticket home.  Don't worry genius girls says, I got this handled.  And by the way, you know that $800 that you have sitting around the house that you don't need.  Send it here so I can get a plane ticket to go home.

Well, I must have been robbed because there is no $800 sitting around here and I couldn't come up with that much money if you put a gun to my head.

Don't worry says genius girl, I got it handled.

She goes to the US Embassy and says she is stranded.  I get a call in the middle of the night from the US Embassy saying they want to send my daughter home because of the war and all, and if I would just give them my credit card number so they can charge the $1500 for a plane ticket she will be on her way.

When I explained to the Embassy person that I don't do credit cards and that I am probably not worth $1500 if I sold everything I owned, including my car she got very upset.  Don't you want you child home.  Uh, yes, desperately, but I don't have the money and she made a very bad decision because she had a free trip home and she gave it up and she would have to figure out how to get home because no one I knew has $1500 laying around to send to her.

She proceeded to interrogate me and lay the guilt on me.  Honestly, she was so insistent that I would have sent the $1500 if I had it, but I don't.

So also called my boyfriend, who told her my daughter was a dumb ass for losing her free ride home and my other daughter who did not answer the phone in the middle of the night.

God knows who else they called.

So my daughter messages me and says they will send her home and she will pay them back and she should be home in 2 days so I was relieved.  I assumed she would be on a plane that day.  She wasn't.  Now she has to provide proof that the group she was part of would not get her home.  I have a feeling that if she does that they will ask for something else.

Things must have gone south with Israeli guy because the plan was to stay until mid September and now she wanted to get home right away.

She does not sound upset or scared or I would panic.  She just sounds annoyed that no one will send her home for free.  She has always had a sense of entitlement.  My other daughter was worried that her sister would be an Israeli prostitute to pay for a trip  home.

I won't be able to rest until she is on US soil again, whenever that is.

It never ends, does it?

She is supposed to leave tomorrow evening (Israel time).  When I told her how worried I've been about her she said not  to worry, she is having a fun time.  Jeez.

I don't know about you but listening to missiles whizz past my head isn't my idea of a good time.

When I was 21, I got lost in Portugal. I know, less danger, but I made it home safely, and I will always have that story to tell.

I'm less inclined to live dangerously now. Prayers to your daughter getting home safely!

She's 23 - she gets to deal with the consequences of her stupid actions ...   I would be pissed off at the embassy EXPECTING you to come up with the money - if she were under 18, maybe ...  at 23?  Hell no, they have no right to pressure you or other members of your family.

This woman was the ***** from hell.  She played on my emotions to try to get money out of me.  Honestly if I had it I would have paid it, she scared me so much.  It was only after talking to my daughter did I calm down.  She told me they were exaggerating things to try and get me to pay to get her home.

My boyfriend said the same thing.  If I hadn't of warned him about her he said he would have given her his credit card number because she made it seem that Sara was in imminent danger.  I told the lady that Sara was an adult and needed to take responsibility for her decisions.  Of course if she really was in immediate danger I would have found a way to pay but Sara sounds like she is enjoying all of it, even the warning sirens.
I swear that girl has more guts then brains.

This IS legit, right? It's not one of those "you kid is in danger, send money" scams?

Yeah, it's legit although I am sure those scammers got their idea from this *****  She puts them to shame.

I could hear my daughter in the background and the number on my id was from Israel.  Also, my daughter had told me to expect the call.

I can see how people can get scammed though.  It is very scary to think of a loved one in a dangerous place.
