Constipation suggestions?

So I am drinking 2-3 protein shakes a day, & usually a low carb dinner at night. I am also drinking 128oz of water a day. Lately though I have been either constipated or I struggle to go & its tough & feels compacted. I thought drinking alot of water would soften the stool? - but it feels as if it's not doing that great of a job. Any suggestions or ideas? I'd greatly appreciate it!!

I am willing to try different things. Everyone is different I know. I am just wondering if through this lifestyle change, nothing will ever become regular without a fiber supplement or such?

Oh, don't get me wrong. I don't use it a LOT. Usually I get enough fiber. But when I get, as I call it, "bunged up", it helps move things along.

Fiber Well Gummies once a day.

Miralax a couple of times per week.

Ah, bliss!

It's really hard early out to get enough fiber to stay regular.  Some folks are helped with just a stool softner.  Others need fiber.  Early out, I did benefiber daily and occasionally miralax.  After 4 yrs, I can go without most of the time but still do benefiber pretty regularly.

What about just good old warm water (1 cup) with lemon (1/2 lemon/juice).
