No I would NOT have had wls with all the Knowledge I have now.Its all good with the weight loss you achieve from wls , then later years down the road something goes wrong. 8 out of 10 people will have complications from this surgery. its funny I met with a local wls surgeon to see if I had a Hernia, I asked many questions. He said he wont do full Rny or DS because of complications later down the road , he will however do the staple of the stomach only. well that's what I wanted in the beginning , never found the right surgeon at that time. 2007 to be exact.I am constantly hearing of people having some kind of complication from wls. Some have regain all their weight back, sad. I preach to my 30 yr old daughter never have wls. she is 100 lbs. overweight now. I am teaching her to loose the weight naturally.

I am pretty sure that you cannot count "Gaining all of the weight back" as a complication of WLS.

I have to seriously question your "8 out of 10" statistics.  What are you basing that on?  The studies I have seen do NOT support that.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.

Can you give links to studies showing that 8 out of 10 have complications? Weight regain is surely nit a "complication".

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,
