Ten years after RNY, I still experience many of the "markers" I dealt with post surgery.  That's a good thing, they keep me from overeating.  However, one that has always concerned me right from the beginning is that on rare occasions when I'm having a bowel movement I get what can be best described as "dry heaves."   They stop as soon as I stand up.  I asked Dr. Smith about it early on, but he didn't seem concerned about it.  I have gained some of my weight, but it's due to drinking wine.  I'm still probably half way down from where I was pre-RNY.

Thanks,

Thanks, but I'm hardly young, and it doesn't make me light - headed.  I actually had something similar when I delivered my second son long before my RNY.  What I tried to explain about this post-surgery symptom is that it makes me feel like I'm about purge my guts.
