So, after thinking it sounded kind of ridiculous,

I downloaded My Fitness Pal and started a food diary. It's completely awesome!  I try to put everything down to even a mint on my journal. It is so helpful. I've found I haven't been eating enough calories. Who knew??!  Great tool!  Thanks for the tip!!

I loved using that app until I got my Jawbone and now I use the "Up" app.  It's awesome.  Welcome to the club :)

I use My Fitness Pal on my iPhone and love to use the scanner to put things in.

Yes, I've put it on my iPhone and my iPad so there are no excuses!  The creators of the app could give lessons to many!  It's easy, smart and so far I haven't found anything it can't find!

Remember, the amount of calories that myfitnesspal states that you need is not set for a person who has WLS.  The amount is grossly overstated.  Follow your surgeon's plan.

I just started using my fitness pal yesterday. I'm wondering if it's accurate though because it has my daily calories reeeealy high!!!! Close to 2,000 calories. Yesterday I was under and today I'm waaaay under and I don't even have any restriction (had the band in 2005 and hasn't been filled since 2009). I'm having a difficult time getting those calories in.

I wouldn't go by the default settings it will give you; it's not for WLS patients. You can modify the settings based on your nutritional goals (for example, I have it set to 800 calories, 40g carbs, 80g protein).  It will tell you that you aren't eating enough but you can just ignore that. :)
