DO NOT HAVE THIS TYPE OF SURGERY.  My husband died within four years of the surgery.

Sorry to hear about your loss.  Was it a direct result of his surgery or because of other problems?

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

I am so sorry about your loss, but many people have this surgery and live for many, many years with no complications whatsoever.  At four years post-op, it would be very difficult to state that it was the surgery itself that was to blame.

What caused your husband's death?

I'm not sure. Just know that he had so many problems; osteoporosis and malnutrition - even though he was taking all of the supplements.  I know it won't bring him back, but I want to find out why this happened, as well as let others know that it is a very serious procedure and should not be taken lightly.

Yep,"too bad about her husband" and father of my 15 year old.  How cold can one possibly be? When I have more information, I will certainly share.  Sorry I posted what happened to let others know there may be other ways to handle obesity.

please understand that there are many posts like this that are posted by " trolls" who for their own reasons want to trash weight loss surgeries. Often they do post one day and deactivate the next day and never answer any replies made to them.

They often say exactly what your post says without any other information. It is hard sometimes to tell honest posts from trash posts, and many of us have been burned in the past by just such posts.

the fact that you continue to engage with is and provide what details you can, suggests that your post is honest and not a troll.

You can request your husbands doctor and hospital records so you can find out EXACTLY what was said and don't about his condition.
