I have to say I am pretty upset. Stepped on the scale this morning and did not lose any weight. Still on liquids so not sure why the scale isn't showing anything. Anyone else have the same problem?

I always rely on my favorite Dr. Alvarez; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2lAC0XP48Ck

The same thing happened to me.  I lost a good amount the first week but like nothing the second.  I know there's a 3/4 week stall that a lot of people experience but maybe we just get it a little earlier?  I'm not one to agonize over the scale but I was like WTF!  Now over the past few days I started losing again.  It's like what the veterans say, just stick to the plan the doctor gave us and it will work itself out.

Don't get too upset as this may well happen a lot! Loss is often erratic, especially while you are recovering from surgery and have, for many people, lost a chunk of weight already.

search this site for the hundreds of threads on two week, three week stall, no weight loss, plateaux.

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

I had my RNY on October 1st.  I lost 14 pounds my first week, then I didn't lose a pound for two weeks.  I gave up checking my weight and when I was at the Gynecologist on Monday (10/27) I was down 5 pounds...seemingly overnight.  I think some people just lose weight like steps and others lose weight like an exponential decay regression (sorry!  I'm a math teacher!)

I lost the first week after surgery, then went on a 3 1/2 week stall... It happens even if you are doing the right thing. Don't worry.

Thanks for your reply. Nice to know it's not just me. One of the reasons I had the surgery was because of my difficulty loosing weight. Looking forward to seeing downward progress! LOL

It is truly amazing how many people get worked up about not losing weight instantly. You just had major surgery, you don't think your body is holding fluids and going through many changes. Give it a chance.
