ADD Medication after surgery?

I take Vyvanse and am not sure how it is going to metabolize after surgery.  I was told to break open the pill and mix it with approximately 6-8 ounces of water.  Will it change how it feels in my body and is this going to be a good way to take it?

Hi Sarah,

Your best source for this question is your surgeon.  He/she will know what type of surgery you are having and how it's going to affect your absorption issues.  Give them a call and let them know your concerns

You'd have to ask your surgeon, but as an aside, I take Vyvance and I do not break it open at all.

Thank you. I brought it up to him and he said whatever I had read up on was fine. I was confused because I figured there would be a certain way because it's bigger than a baby aspirin.  I guess I can try just taking it and if it doesn't work, break it apart.

In reading the dosing information on their web site, it states that it can be opened and sprinkled into food if needed, so mixing it into greek yogurt or even water is okay, according to the makers of Vyvanse that is.
