Are you seeing a therapist?  If not, you might consider adding one to your team.  This whole process can be quite the emotional roller coasted!

I am older (post menopausal) so I don't know what to say about regulating however as you lose weight estrogen will be released that can make you emotional. Having said this, it is worth the journey. Maybe a support group or therapist could help? We all behave badly at times, all you can do is apologize and try to do better next time. Good luck! Don't be too hard on yourself!

My "friend" came post op day 4, 2 weeks early. And OH MY it has been the heaviest & longest cycle I have had. Heavier than after babies & miscarriage. Miserably & disgustingly heavy

I have also flipped out on everyone this week - some of them needed to be put in place. I have cried at stupid things & important things. I ahve yelled & I have laughed. all of those things hurt my incisions.

The very nice lady at the clinic called me "cute" when I called to tell her about it. She is a lovely lady, but I almost told her what she can do with calling me cute! :) She said the hormones are going haywire.

I dont have a solution, but I am right here with you.

Oh I remember being an emotional mess around that time, period or not.  I remember some veterans called it a hormone dump that can occur after any major surgery.  I was crying, irritable, snapping at people, etc.  It will pass.  Hang in there.

Click on the little magnifying glass in the title bar and type in "Hormone Dumping."  It's very common after WLS.  I remember having emotional blow outs during the first couple of months after surgery.

You might consider joining a support group to help you during this transition into your new normal.  Or even therapy is a great outlet.
