wls and hormones?

I'm getting VSG on March 2nd. I'm off my birth control pills preop and post op for awhile, but will need a reliable form of birth control after that. Until then we use a diaphragm and spermicide, but this isn't my favorite method as I have really painful periods off the hormones.

I'm considering Nuvaring, or possibly Yasmin post op. I will make an appointment with my GYN, but just curious what yall ladies are using? And does your period still go all wonky even whIle on hormones post op? I'm regular when off the pill, and I'm pretty sure I ovulate even though I'm Overweight. Just nervous that my hormones are going to go insane once I start losing.

I've had a Mirena IUD since 2007.  I love it.  Good for 5 years, no periods (happens to a lot of women on it) and no effort to remember to take pills etc.  I got a blood clot on Yasmin and can't take anything hormonal anymore.

My primary birth control is a tubal ligation, but I take Seasonique for period regulation and it's great.  I do find that my body is wanting to have a period every 8 weeks instead of every 12, but it's been fine for me.
