Fat Clothes In Your Closet?

Once you start losing weight do you find you hang on to your fat clothes with a death grip?  In doing so are you doubting yourself?  I have to admit I had a "I GOT THIS" attitude during my weight loss, but did not get rid of my fat clothes until 18 months after hitting goal.

Give or throw those fat clothes away, and DON'T LOOK BACK

Now that I am a size medium I have held on to most of my x-larges and some of my larges just to gauge my success incase I begin to feel too tight in the mediums... hasn't happened yet but I did feel fat for a while I when I tried on the one single xxxlarge T-shirt it was like I was camping in a five man tent...LOL

LIFE IS HARD, BUT GIVING UP HAS NO REWARDS!!!

I have given away every pair of pants too big, I only have size 14's in my closet right now which is the size I am wearing. (I started this journey a 22 or 24).  I have large and some x large shirts because I can still wear some of them. I got rid of all my 2x and 3x shirts. I will never look back! I hope to get to a 10, but will keep my 12's for the regain expected after hitting goal.  I will not keep anything bigger than a 12.  If those start getting tight, that will be my signal that I need to adjust my eating/exercising.  I say take the Get Rid Of It and Never Look Back Attitude!

My local Band Support Group used to do periodic 'clothing swaps' --- as soon as I was out of a size, the clothes were gone (except for 1 pair of jeans from the bad old days).

It really, really hurt to have to go buy a 'size up' in jeans when I gained back some weight --- but I made myself do it and it really strengthened my resolve to lose those extra pounds.

If the bigger sizes were readily available in my closet, it would be so much easier to 'size surf' -- and I don't want to be able to do that.

As soon as I found anything too big, it went straight to a charity shop. I kept nothing. I actually wish I had kept just one item to remind myself of how far I had to come!

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

Getting rid of them as fast as you can is a good plan

Me too.  I got rid of everything as soon as I had replacements from Goodwill and Salvation Army.  I should've kept one example of my fat clothes.
