Urinary Tract Infection

Did anyone get a UTI after surgery? I am having severe lower abdominal pain and feel like my bladder is always full. I'm getting in my 64 oz of water daily. I talked to my WLS program nurse and she thinks it sounds like UTI and referred me to my PCP which I will see later today. Does anyone know if a UTI can happen from a catheter? I'm currently 2 weeks post op.

I had a UTI right after surgery too.  My doctor told me that some people can develop a UTI from catheters after surgery.  She put me on antibiotics and it cleared up in a week.  

I think uti can be a result of a catheter. Hope you feel better. Those things suck!

Catheters are notorious for causing UTIs so I'm betting that's your problem.  A course of antibiotics should clear it right up.
