This is an interesting article, but there is concern that the few ins companies that do cover wls will stop covering it, or will greatly increase their ins premiums. Even though obesity is a disease treatments like wls is optional. 

I do think it would be great if ins companies would cover excess skin removal & not classify it as cosmetic surgery, maybe the change in classification would prevent ins companies from raising their rates or dropping wls coverage.

This is also ONLY in California and because Kaiser's actions violate their state laws it doesn't apply to any other states.
